Are you really that bothered by your Star Rating?

I just noticed that after weeks of having a Blue 10 star, i've now gone down to having a Red 9 star. I never expected to stay on a 10, after all when you're at the top the only way to go is down! Anyway, i realised that i'm actually not really that bothered about it, far less so than i thought. Maybe if i only had a 1 (if that's possible, i don't think i've seen a 1) or another low rating then maybe i'd feel a bit upset that there must be lots of people who don't like my discussions or replies. So how do you feel about your Star Rating? If it's a 10, are you really pleased and desperately hope it will stay like that, or maybe you're lower at say a 7 or 8, and don't feel happy with it?

Nah, I'm not the least bit concerned with it! I'm veeeerrrry used to people trying to beat me down because I'm not what society considers "normal" but I still put myself out there! And in the end, really, how will some little number in a star online affect my life one way or the other? And who will remember or even give a fig years from now, or even days from now! Don't sweat the small stuff, I say. There's more than enough big stuff in the world to sweat! :)

I am pretty happy and in a way proud of my 10. I wouldn't be too hurt if I dropped a bit, but would be a little shocked if it dropped a lot.

I am not bothered at all. IT's just a number, for goodness sakes. People are going to rate positively, people are going to rate negatively, it's all a matter of THEIR personal opinions and motivations. I don't take it personally that I don't have a 10 rating, I just suck it up and move on.

I'm not that bothered about my star rating, to be honest. I'm happy at a nine, I'd probably be a tad miffed if it dropped below a seven! The only reason I'd be worried is if it is actually true that it affects our earnings.. no-one seems to know though! x

I never have a blue star, I have a red star now. I don't care about it at all. but several days ago, it turns suddenly to 5 from 9. I feel very surprised, I usually post qualified responses, so I don't know what's wrong, fortunately, it turns back at last. I like to reply members' discussions, so I pay little attention to star rating, and I think if I post qualified responses, I must get my favorite blue star. Don't you think so? Good luck, friend. Please add me as your friend, thank you.

No, it doesn't bother me that much. My star rating hasn't changed yet. I, however, would not want to see a 1 star rating next to my name. It shows other users that my discussions aren't good. They wouldn't want to reply to mine because of that. Sometimes I don't get responses to my discussions, but I still haven't seen a change in my star. My star rating is a red 9 and I am just fine with it. What surprised me is when I first reached 100 posts, I got my first rating of 8 and in a matter of minutes, it went up to 9. This was just last month too. I wouldn't worry too much if you're rating has gone down or up. It just shows that you need to focus more on making better quality responses. If you have a lot of friends, this could also bring up you're rating. They are the ones who are most likely to respond to your discussions first and that gives you good ratings.

when the star rating started i was a 9 and, other than a week after the minus ratings fairy paid attention to my discussions, i have always been a 9. Im quite happy with my nine, it means im still capable of annoying people when i feel the need When i dropped to an 8 it did upset me because i felt it was because i had disagreed with someone. However, as time goes on, im not that worried about it blessed be

I used to get worried about it or wonder if someone was going around giving me negative feedback but I stopped worrying. If someone doesn't like my post or thread that's fine. If they dole out too much negative feedback it does come back on them and their star eventually drops.

i do not give much attention to the star ratings but at times when my ratings dips i do feel bad and try to post more discussions with better quality.the ratings makes a user proud of himself that he is providing good posts and thats how i feel too.so it does matter a litlle for me.

I was a 10. honest. hehe. I think the thing that bothers me about it is that I know people have been marking me down purely on the grounds of disagreeing with my opinions. I'm always polite and respectful in my posts, never rude, but people are marking me down anyway just because they don't like what I'm saying, even though I'm polite about it. that bothers me more than actually losing the points, the fact they are marking down as an act of spite rather than because my posts are pointless or rude.

Hello, hezoid,I will try to keep my star rating at a good level but I am not too bothered by it. I understand that the rating is fluctuating everyday, but as long as we keep up with good quality discussions and replies, our rating will be increased finally, even it goes down,i have nothing to say.I think it will be fine for you as 10 or 9 does not make a huge difference, they are still considered to be high rating and other members will reply to you for sure. I got a 7 star after 100 posts but i did not have much feeling,I just enjoyed in replying and not bothered by the rating too much.

last time.. i used to have rating 8 and above.. now it dropped.. and i doubt it will increase again.. i don't know why people pull down my rating.. i don't know where i wrong.. they didn't message me to tell me what's wrong.. all i know is.. i tried my best to give quality discussion and post.. didn't know it's a mistake to make such discussion... actually i'm okay with it.. but.. recently, i noticed that rating too will affect the earnings.. that's when i really piss off.. i think i've been working hard to make 50 - 60 quality replies.. and now i'm earning less just because someone thinks my post is not good at all.. kind of heartbroken also ={ ..hoping to reach top 8 again

Not really bothered by it. If people don't like my opinion about things then thats ok too. As long as it doesn't interrupt my earnings then thats fine with me :) Hope yours gets back up there again soon!

I must admit I was surprised when I hit the 100 post mark and my star appeared as a red 9. Although I don't really mind what it is or could be, I'm just having fun and earning alittle money discussing things here on mylot.

Yeah, I'm bothered. Where do I go from here? How about an "11" LOL. I'd be happy if everyone was a "10" or if they just ditched the system.

I am happy with my star. I hope it will stay but if it didn't, it means my discussion is not that interesting. I will try to make a good discussion in the future. For me, a Star rating is something that motivate you to do better in mylot. I dont rate "-" but I always try to find the best response and for the most suitable response or those who response to my discussions, I will always rate them "+". Even if they will not know it, but it is a way for me to appreciate the effort and time by all my friends and mylotians to response to my discussions. We all help each other here.
