The goal in war is to deny the enemy the ability to continue the fight. Since the Congressional Democrats have proven that their goal in the war in Iraq is to deny our troops the ability to continue the fight, we see who they consider the enemy.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid are the leaders of the most active cell Al Qaeda has operating in Washington DC. They have done more to promote the enemy's war effort than they have ever aided our own troops.
They are enemies of the service members of the US Military and the people of the United States.
Every Senator and Housemember who is willing to hold our troops' hostage should be held accountable for their war crimes.

Once again I fail to see where Iraq has anything to do with terrorist or Al Qaeda even Bush has said they werent linked together. I think if you want to do something about 9/11 we should be dropping some bombs on Saudi Arabia (where almost all of the terrorist came from) or be firing some people who could have stopped it and didnt (which not one person every lost their job for). I dont know call me a fool but if I had a neighbor whos kids burned down my house I dont think I would go blow up a different neighbors house I would be looking at that neighbor whos kids did it reguardless of how good of a friend he says he is. Obviously if they were such good friends their kids wouldnt be burning down our houses now would they. As far as Saddam ya it was a good thing we got him, after all we helped him get to the top to begin with. But I dont see why we should pick up the pieces and be in the middle of a civil war for decades to come when they could give less than two cents for us. Let them rebuild and fight it out on their own and when the next dictator rises to the top atleast we wont be responsible for putting him in power. Lets worry about our own and those who really did us wrong before we worry about trying to police the world.

Iraq was seen as very much a gathering threat (the most critical) for even Saddam thought he had nuclear wmd's (and chemical) - Iknow if I was one of his generals, I wouldn't want to be the one to tell him otherwise.. (or that his wmd programs weren't up to par..) - Besides, the Iraqi top nuclear official went to Niger twice.. which only deals in uranium.. The idea is to not let any crazy genocidal despots get wmd's so they can't in turn, sell them to eager terrorists.

Can you really still think that Al Qaeda, The Taliban and other anti western terrorist groups aren't fighting agaisnt us in Iraq?
Leaders of Al Qaeda are being captured in Iraq, do you think they are just there for their family vacation?
Like it or not, it wasn't the US who made Iraq the epicenter of the war on terror, it was the terrorist leaders. The war against Hussein was over a long time ago. If the terrorists, Iran and Syria didn't join in, all the Iraq war would have been is a brush fire.
Yes, let's worry about our own house, let's expect our local and state leaders to do their jobs instead of blaming the President for everything that happens to us.

EvanHunter, it wasn't the U.S. that made Iraq the epicenter of the war on Islamist Extremist terrorism, it was the terrorists. But that doesn't matter anymore... Niether does it matter why we first returned to hostilities with Iraq, because it is a different war now.
Hussein was removed and the people of Iraq elected a new government, at that point the original mission was completed. The new war isn't so simple.
Now we are fighting Al Qaeda, The Taliban, Iran, Syria, Iraqi insurgents, and every other hanger-on who has decided to make their play in Iraq. That is the true nature of the war on terror.
You are right, they will keep coming, they have been fighting us since the 70s. The only thing new about it is, we are actually shooting back now.
For some reason we have it in our heads that it is only a war if we are shooting back. They count on that kind of blindness, it has served them well for so long.

This is definitely one way to look at the situation.
Now I am starting to actually see news reports that say Iraq is a gathering place for terrorists.
These reports shed a whole new like on things in Iraq and show that those who call the War in Iraq a civil war are mistaken.
There are way too many people who think that if we leave Iraq that the terrorists will forget all about the US and stay in the Mideast.
The democrats are fooling themselves and a lot of Americans into thinking that this is Bush's war and has nothing to do with national security.
They are of course mistaken in their assumption.

It's "Bush's Immoral War" now, but when Prs. Clinton was killing cleaning ladies in aspirin factories in Iraq it was "the right thing to do". Hmmmmm

EvanHunter...They got in the same way any illegal alien gets in, simply by crossing the border.
How they got in is not nearly as notable as what they did when they got here.
As far as why we are in Iraq, haven't you been keeping up?
Iraq is turning into a gathering place for the same bunch of terrorists that brought us 9-11.
If we don't win in Iraq, or if we leave before they are defeated, then they WILL pay us another visit.
They hate our way of life, and they hate everything we represent, and their goal is to destroy Western Civilization and the US.
They want a completely Islamic world, and the sooner people wake up and see the truth, the better off we will all be.

Once again almost everyone of the 9/11 terrorist came from Saudi Arabia not one of them were from Iraq??? So why arent we bombing the the hell out of our so called allies? Why arent are so called allies doing everything they can to track the leader down? national security should be handled right here at home everyday there are hundreds of people crossing our borders and not a damn thing is being done about it, do you really think we are safe? Anyone with half a brain can sneak in via mexico. I think we need to be worrying about our borders before we worry about Iraq or Iran. I also would love to hear why these guys got into the country to begin with when they were on a terrorist watch list and they were never picked up someone should be fired if not outright thrown in prison for letting that happen.

I am constantly surprised at how many people believe the books and movies which so delight in portraying the usa and the CIA, etc, as great evils and conspiracies.. regularly carrying out evil.. Granted they sold well.. but now 1/3 to 1/2 if not more of the US population itsself believes 'em! I guess when you throw in all that propaganda from enemies, it makes it somehow convincing, especially when our own media and the world media adopts and pushes it too.. Bottom line.. all because they 'hate' the conservative point of view.. you know, restraints on any personal behavior for the sake of society.. I pretty much reckon we've entered the twilight zone and aren't coming out anytime soon. To me Pelosi and Reid are on the frontlines of the America is the bad guy worldview.. Ultimately, I think even they mean well! But as a christian, I just have to marvel at how Israel, christianity and the USA/ still 1/2 christian, is now considered the world's foremost evils.. very tricky that..

We need a president like Abrahnam Lincoln who took Southern Supports in the government and sent then down south. Maybe we should sent the democratic leadership and out spoken critics and send them to iraq or Afganastand and let them see what life is like in Al Queda paradice.

Too true, Pelosi has already shown the terrorists that she respects them more than she respects Americans (by covering her head for them). All of them who voted to pull troops from Iraq should be forced to live under the conditions they are willing to force Iraqis to live.

I completely agree with you. Americans need to wake up, and realize that these people want to kill us. As one of the greatest nations in the world our troops should have all the advanced technology, and anything they need. There is no reason our troops should be ill equipped.
As far as the other comments as to why in Iraq. Bottom line whether the reason for going there was a lie or not, Sadaam was a tirant. Many, many people suffered under his leadership. The good citizens of Iraq were elated to be freed of his terror. That in itself should be good enough reason. I must say I still don't understand why we have not gotten Osama. I know they say he hides, but he should be first on our list. We need to be watching Iran,Russia, and N.Korea as well. These countries can be a serious threat to us. I would much rather have them fight there than here.
This sounds very cruel, and I have really given this some thought. Why are we fighting on the ground. To me it would seem like the citizens who are normal or like the U.S. should be told to get out, and then a certain date pull the troops and bomb the hell out of the place, and be done with it. This may sound ignorant, but just my feelings.
