high blood pressure is called the silent killer because u can have it for years without knowing it .the only way to find out if you have high blood pressure is to have your blood pressure measured.using a blood pressure cuff and stethoscope or electronic sensor,ur doctor or nurse can take ur blood pressure and tell u if it is high.
even though high blood pressure usuallay has no signs and symptoms.what u think?

I think it has no specific symptoms...
It is important to take steps to keep your blood pressure under control. The treatment goal is blood pressure below 140/90 and lower for people with other conditions, such as diabetes and kidney disease. Adopting healthy lifestyle habits is an effective first step in both preventing and controlling high blood pressure. If lifestyle changes alone are not effective in keeping your pressure controlled, it may be necessary to add blood pressure medication

I was very lucky that I did have symptoms, I was getting nose bleeds and palpitations, I never thought anything of it really and I just so happened to be at a friends place who had a home blood pressure monitor, when I told her what wa happening she checked my blood pressure and told me it was extremely high so I went to the doctors and she told me I was so close to have a stroke....

Most people with high blood pressure have no signs or symptoms, even if blood pressure readings reach dangerously high levels.
Although a few people with early-stage high blood pressure may have dull headaches, dizzy spells or a few more nosebleeds than normal, these signs and symptoms typically don't occur until high blood pressure has reached an advanced — possibly life-threatening — stage.
You can have high blood pressure (hypertension) for years without a single symptom. But silence isn't golden. Uncontrolled high blood pressure increases your risk of serious health problems, including heart attack and stroke.
Blood pressure is determined by the amount of blood your heart pumps and the amount of resistance to blood flow in your arteries. The more blood your heart pumps and the narrower your arteries, the higher your blood pressure.
High blood pressure typically develops without signs or symptoms. And it affects nearly everyone eventually. If you don't have high blood pressure by age 55, you have a 90 percent chance of developing it at some point in your life, according to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. Fortunately, high blood pressure can be easily detected. And once you know you have high blood pressure, you can work with your doctor to control it.
I hope this helps.

saymptoms of high blood pressure known as hypertension can sneakily6 creep up on you if you are not constantly checking or having it check. Most common symptoms(there is not alot to start with)is your head feeling heavy and sometimes headache. Other times you'll a bit dizziness if the pressure is really high.

I have been told that high blood pressure can cause headaches. People don't usually make the connection, though, and headaches can be caused by lots of other things, too.
That is the only symptom that I know of.

Well I have really high blood pressure, and take four different medications. I know when my blood pressure is high. I get this pounding feel in my body, but I also get massive headaches. I mentioned it to my doctor, and he didn't seem to think it was unrelated. He said that in some people, they can have sympotms.
