Hey friends , we all hail from all over the world and use various grretings to address people we meet .. Which one do u use most often ??
e.g. I live in India and I usually meet people with a 'Hi' or a typical 'Namaste' which is the local greeting here ..
Or just an informal 'Yaar' for the buddies ... :D

here in the Philippines, we call people with due respect and in so many ways. like, we use the words "po and opo" to someone whose elder than us, we use "lolo and lola" for our grandparents, "ate, kuya, ditse, dikong etc " for our siblings. we address people also by the position they have in the society before their names like if youre a doctor and your name is anna guittierez, we will call you...Doctor Anna Guittierez. we also uses the words "hi and hello" or greet them depending on the time of the day....and so many other things that we use and do to give respect. takecare

My most common one is "Hi" and "Hello", followed by a "Whassup!?"
I tend to really drag the Hi's and the Hello's, like Hiiiieeeeeeeee!!!!!! or Hellloooooooooo!! Hehehe, thats how I am! When I go to office in the morning, I typically greet everyone with a Goooood Morning!! I think thats a great way to start the day, and I've also been told by some friends that my cheery good mornings brightened up their day when they were feeling low

Hai Abin here,
Hi friend that's a marvelous question.
I think i usually greets people according to their relation with me or their age.
i usually treat people who i don't actually know(like you)
by saying hai or hi.
I think it's just fine about this way of calling
Your's,
Abindas.
