I would say this is true, untill you get a little sister that is. I am the middle child of three, I do remember that I used to favor a lot of attention from my parents away from my brother. It's not like I did it on purpose, well maybe sometimes. I do remember my brother sometimes getting jealous of it, especially since I was always closer to our dad and followed in his footstpes a lot, leaving my brother spending time with mom. He didn't seem to mind it much grwing up but I felt bad after my dad passed away. My brother being the oldest was asked to say a few words, I noticed that a lot fo his memories were from age 7 and younger, because that is when I came in and stole the show. He never said how much it bothered him but I always knew it did and only wish I could go back in time and share the good times I had with my brother.

What you said is not true. Not always younger brothers have special attention. Nor the elder. It's just your impression. Parents give the same attention for all their children, there's not a special one.
Of course, sometimes they give more attention to one, but that's just temporary.
Of course there are exceptions to these cases. In some cases, parents really give attention to a special child.

I don't really think that I get special attention really, it is just that I am the baby of the family as my mom always calls me. To be honest sometimes it is embarrassing to me. I don't always want all the attention and wish that it would be placed on my brother or sister instead of me. JMO

Younger brother wins parent's attention as always,it fact because of the age differences n the maturity levels in between the elder and the younger, they always think that the elder one will be able to understand the situation better than the younger one.
