practical ways of teaching oral english to second language learners

Many Nigerians have mother tongue interference in their spoken english. some come to school with little or no English language, others come with a lot of pidgin, while some still come to school with a mixture of these, and yet a few come with Nigerian English, with one or three coming with what can be termed good English.
As a teacher in this situation, what are the practical ways or techniques that i can use to successfully teach oral English?
