Are the scary movies that you saw as a child still as scary to you today? One that really terrified me when I was a child was a movie called Ghost Story. I saw it again a few years ago and practically laughed the whole way through.
But another, Poltergeist, which has the distinction of being the first scary movie I watched with my eyes open, is more creepy to me now than it was when I was a child. I watched parts of it again last night and got chills!
What about you?

my BF and i were discussing this the other night...the "scary" movies today are just gory not scary..the two that stick in my mind from the double feature at the drive-in years ago that scared the heck out of me were House on the Hill and Texas Chainsaw Massacre...we keep renting movie after movie that says scariest movie ever but we still haven't found one that we didn't sit and laugh at.

I agree, there just aren't very many good scary movies these days. Although The Ring creeped me out. Have you seen that one?

I don't do scary very well. I had a bf in high school that loved loved loved scary movies. He made me sit through some of the most god awful stuff. I once took a guy, big huge mountain man of a man to see Nightmare on Elm Street. He sat there with his coat over his head for the whole thing! I had to laugh at that. But Im not a huge fan of the scary ones. I remember once seeing just a little bit of the movie The Excorcist. It was on TV and my mom was on the phone, when that little girls head turned around I don't think I ever screamed so loud in my life! My mom was appalled that we were watching such a scary movie and of course turned it off. But I caught her laughing about it too. Cause I mean we were SCARED!!! Today I would probably get chills but not go crazy like I did then. Good memories though!

The movie was terrifying! What disturbs me about it today? Is that they had a little girl, on screen for nearly 2 hours, spewing horrible awful obscene things and acting like the devil. I think that child said the F word, and every other word in the book (as well as quoting The Good book in ways that made me ill.) It was just plain horrifying to think about her as an actress and not just in the part she was portraying. As an adult and watching it I just felt like I needed a bath. Truly you don't need to see that movie. I think that little girl is messed up today as well... I think there was an article that I read about it somewhere. But I'd have to verify that one. Lots of messed up kid actors in the world.
