Hi Charles, Yes it happened to me before with egold so that you must make sure that nobody and I mean nobody knows your password details otherwise this can happen so do not open any mail that you do not know where it is coming from be extremely careful lucky for me I do not use egold due to this.

I rather doubt your account was hacked. You do realize that gold took a bit of a beating over the last week in the markets. Spot gold lost 10.00 per ounce over the last couple of days, and gold futures for June are down 1.4%. This means the same amount of egold Monday is worth less on Friday. Can't use egold without keeping an eye on the gold market.

No, you would first report it to egold so they can investigate. There are two egold accounts involved after all. At the very least they would be put on notice about this other account, at the most they might reverse the transaction if they found your complaint to be valid.
For anyone who ever has trouble with a product, service or whatever. Create a paper trail!. All companies that use customer service track your complaints and problems and most take them quite seriously. The longer the paper trail, the more seriously they take you.

i can't differentiate wheter i was hacked due to egold mistake or my own mistake.. what if the hacker take his chance when egold is down? could that be possible? i think it's very possible..and i think egold should give me an explanation .. i believe they should have record of that transaction.

Hello, charlstchan, I think egold is not hacked, there is some problems with egold and I thik it is suspended for some time as its fund is frozen for investigation (i think), it is allerged thta egold has used the funds for money laundering and some other illegal activities and the admin was being questioned now, charges have not been laid yet but investigation is in progress. You can know more about the news of egold under this link:

Sorry to hear that but it's really strange. How can something like that happen? Are you using your own computer? Or maybe you accessed your egold in a intenet cafe and maybe you have left your e-gold account open.. I read from somewhere that there is a fake site of egold. Instead of e-gold it is e-qold which is very much alike. It uses the same interface as the real egold. Same links and everything and once you enter your passphrase, they'll lead you to a site where you are asked to put your email add and the password to that email. Here try to read this one. www.pinoymoneytalk.com/2005/07/20/beware-of-the-fake-egold-website/
