how do you shirk off the commission that you dislike?

i was studying in a private foundational college over half of year.frankly speaking,its education system is no so good,maybe a litte bit terrible.it was a quite new college so that it prepare to publish some ads to recruit more students.hence the diretor ask one of my classmates and me(both of us got a nice mark on IELTS test recently) to write a short essay to thank the help of our college.but i don't think the college had helped me with my study.so i don't want to advertise for it.i don't think our college deserves it.i felt embarrassed and have no idea how to shirk off this commission.any suggestions?
