free to play bank space.

as you know, i did a bit on my members bank space, well i will do a bit about helping to keep room in your free to play bank (as someone wanted to know lol). i have 3 non member accounts, as well as my main member account, so yes i know how frustraiting it can be to have such limited bank space. to help keep my bank free from clutter and always have space available to put things in, this is what i do. 1. quest related items. if i am planning on doing any of the quests, i collect the items needed (in the case of goblin diplomacy, 3 goblin mails, blue dye, red dye, yellow dye) that's not much you may think, but it is 4 bank spaces if you just leave the stuff there in your bank... so, once you start a quest, get it done as soon as possible just to get the stuff out of your bank. 2. crafting stuff. do you keep a needle, thread, different molds, and a chisle in your bank? i used to, till i figured that it is no real great loss to just throw them away and get a new one when needed. a chisle costs 1 gp, so does a needle... what a waste of bank space if you just keep them there and don't use them for weeks. 3. cow hides. keeping cow hides to sell them is fine, but if you craft with them, you may as well just craft them as soon as you get them and then sell what you have made, so that they don't take up any extra space. 4. gems, cut and uncut. don't you have the crafting lvl for that diamond sat in your bank? sell it, why have it taking up bank space when you can sell it to another player and get a bit of gp too. also, don't keep uncuts if you have cut gems of the same type in your bank, cut them and free up a space. 5. runes. are you a mage on occasion, do you like to collect up your runes so you can do alot of spells in one go? i do, but there are some runes i just don't see the point in keeping. bodies for instance, only pures really use them, they don't do good spells they just help lvl mage without lvling hp. nature runes, if you don't have the mage lvl for casting high alch, low alch or superheat, then they are no use to you, you may as well sell them. same for laws, if you can't tele anywhere, you may as well sell them and have your bank space. 6. clothes. every year for easter, hallow'een and christmas, jagex are nice enough to bring out a special event for us all to do, but along with it comes new clothes to wear (chicken suit for this years easter) they can take up alot of room in the bank, so drop them! yup that's right. it doesn't matter, if you fancy wearing a certain outfit you have dropped, then go and see diango in draynor village, he will give you it back. 7. armour. only keep the armour you need, why have a complete set of mage wear if you are a meleer that never mages? why have full steel if you are a ranger that never fights in melee? 8. smelt your ores. been mining? go smelt your ores lol, if you have a lot of tin and copper in your bank, it's taking up 2 spaces, when made into bronze, it only takes up one space. when making steel, you have coal and iron ore again, taking up 2 spaces. 9. smithing your bars. when smithing, try to only make one type of thing from your bars, generally the higest thing you can make for the best exp, this just means that your made products are only going to take up one space. mmm, i think that's all i can come up with for now, hope that helps anyone in need of ways to keep their free to play bank clean :)

i know that there are people that have multiple accounts and they switch stuff between the accounts to have the extra bank space, but i was hoping to give solutions to those not wanting to do that and break rules. it can sometimes ruin the game for people if they cheat.

no need to worry about offending me lol, i have nothing against those that aren't too fussed about the rules, but i know that there are alot of players out thaer that would at least like to try to play fair. plus exchanging stuff between characters can be dangerous in the sense that you can loose the things your are swapping over, if you drop trade yourself, there is a chance of someone else comming along and taking it, if you have a friend log into your account, there is the chance they will take the account. and if you try to multi log, you may be causght by jagex and have both accounts banned.

yes bank sales are a great way to off load your stuff to others and free up lots of space, but standing around in banks rather than gaining exp can be somewhat boring sometimes, and with the forums being for members only, it makes it a little harder to sell things quickly. selling to a shop i would say isn't great money, but certainly faster than selling to other players.
