I'm not too sure how medics would explain this, but from my memory of having a slipped disc I was in tremendous pain if I tried to do anything. I remember one day it took me over 2 hours just to get out of the chair. The pain was in my lumbar region with it also going down the back of my left leg. The pain was sometimes so intense I was almost blacking out.
The only way I could relieve the pain was to lie flat on my back on the floor or to let my legs hang loose by using my hands and arms to get my feet off the floor.
I often laugh at people who claim to have a slipped disc, if they had then they wouldn't be walking round complaining about it, they just have backache.
