Jordan is leaving from a small town in Wyoming and hiking through the wilderness to a post where he will spend the summer. The hike will take Jordan six days. One man can only carry enough food and water for four days. Jordan cannot take a mule or any other animal to haul his food and water, because there will be insufficient food and supplies for the animals at his destination. How can Jordan make it to his destination?
Please don't look up the answer, it ruins the fun. Thank you!

I just love and enjoy logical riddles. you have refreshed me LilyoftheThorns. I will adopt following approach.
I, in this case Jordan, will take atleast two hikers with me to accompany me partialy, as each can carry four days of food and water supplies, so two will be sufficient. On first day, i'll ask one companion to give me and other companion food and water. So three servings will be used on first day, leaving one serving for that companion to return. Noz on second day, i'll ask other companion to share his food and water with me. thus two servings will be used that day, leaving behind three servings for the other companion to return. Now i myself have four days of servings and can easily reach the post. I hope i am right, atleast logically:-) however if not, please tell me, so that i can try something else.

How about Jordan goes two days without food or water. He wouldn't die, just be a bit dehydrated. Alternatively, his ration could be cut down to 2/3 daily and then he would have no major inconvenience at all.
