Yesterday, I went up there and set for two hours and was finally able to catch the dog. The dog is friendly with adults, just not with children. I went all over the place and finally found an older couple that would take the dog. They don't have any kids, well they are grown now. They felt so sorry for him and was glad to save his life. I then called the dog warden and told him I took care of the dog, he was gone and with some people that would provide him with a good home so he could put his gun away now. Thanks for all of the advice for everyone that replied. I would have felt really bad if I didn't do something and the poor dog get shot..

that was a wonderful thing that you did. you made the dog and the family that adopted the dog very happy. that dog will be grateful to that couple forver. do you believe that rescued dogs show appreciation and know they have been saved from a horrible fate

I think they definately show appreciation. This dog's family moved and just left him there, so he was just happy to be with people again and eat. Thanks:)
