Gender isn't an issue for me at all. I don't consider it when choosing friends, lovers, anything. So I certainly wouldn't consider it when choosing a President.
There was a discussion about this among some friends of mine recently, about whether we would vote for a woman who was running for President, even if we didn't think she was best for the job. It really got me thinking about my views on things. I am a woman, I have a big obsession with equal rights... and therefore, I would NOT vote for a woman for President whom I didn't think was the best candidate. However, if there were a woman who were the best candidate, I would be very excited and would vote for her.

So many of what the USA would call developing nations, have already had female presidents, I honestly don't see why the USA can't have one too. It's about time a woman runs for President and wins!!! I'd run, but I'm Canadian, so I can't run in the USA.

As for me I'm not against women becoming presidents in America. But as for" my opinion" in a way somewhat America is still traditional in terms of gender in politics or the thaught of women handling a ublic office.I'm not fro America so I may not be aware of women having big offices in public administration. So my point is it might not be acceptable for the greater number of population in America for having to chose a female president. So I'd still prefer a male president which in my opinion would be recognized and respected by other politicians. In the case of the philipines having female presidents and politicians.People as aspiring for changes that they didn't receive from former promises of male presidents.

It's been a long time of aspiring to have a good president in the Philippines but I think the only one that has a record high that amazed everyone in the world is Pres. Gloria.
To be traditional is OK like what the US did. For me it's hard to change the style of their politics since almost all of them delivered what they had promised to their people ever since.
For Philippines, for as long as millions are affected by the non deliverance of the promised services to the people then there will always be a change for the better.
But Philippines is still lucky to have a breakthrough in the economy. It is the foreign agencies that rated Philippines positive and it is a good sign.
