Fate of a Child

I believe as children our fate is determined by our friends. For instance, someone hanging around a bunch of thugs will most likely drop out of high school. Rather than a well disciplined child with well oriented friends who are non trouble makers. Peer pressure plays an important role in determining our future. Standing up for oneself can lead to a better lifestyle not to say the least and also a much healthier one too.

I partly agree with your stance on children's fate. But I have to say that there are other issues that can have something to do with the outcome of their lives. Take parenting for example. Did they grow up with both parents in the household or were they separated. This can have a profound effect on a child. I do agree that a child/teenager can find themselves involved with the wrong group of friends and if they are gullible enough, they will follow the crowd. Some of us chose not to follow that crowd. It does take great strength sometimes for a child to pick the right thing to do. Sometimes even the most well disciplined child can end up with problems later in life unfortunately. But I also agree with standing up for oneself leading to better life decisions.
