melbourne or sydney?

Sydney is nicer!

I prefer Sydney to Melbourne, but both are great cities. Sydney was my first introduction to Australia. Flying over the beautiful harbour, white sails of the opera house and the grey coat hanger like beach delighted me. Immigration officers were friendly for once. I stayed in Coogee. I loved the beautiful golden sand beach there. I went to the botanical gardens and saw stunning birds like the cockatoo flying around. I adored the great atmosphere around Circular Quay. I enjoyed seeing the historical area of Paddington. I saw fireworks over darling Harbour. I had a wonderful time in the northern suburbs. Avalon Beach was a great place to stay and work. Palm Beach was lovely. I so liked the views on the way up to the lighthouse. I had some exciting adventures in the Pittwater National Park. I enjoy walking along the Manly Scenic walkway. My friend suggested a month in Sydney. She was right. There is so much to see and do in Sydney. Also the weather can be really lovely, except in winter.
