Is anyone else on here a fan of this show? Did you enjoy it? If so did you have a favorite episode or character? I really enjoyed watching this show Kevin Sorbo was great as Hercules as was Michael Hurst as Iolaus. I also had a soft spot for Kevin Smith who not only played Ares but originally played Iphicles, Hercules' brother. They did like to reuse characters on there. I think my favorite episode was the one with the parallel universe. Where Ares was the God of Love, Cupid was the God of War, and Hercules was evil. It was a funny episode. The other episode I really liked was the first time we met the Widow Twanky, who if you don't know was also played by Michael Hurst. It was funny watching him as the Widow and teaching Hercules to dance.

Yup, I liked this show as well. Although I didn't catch on to this show until the episodes were all repeats. Kevin Sorbo was a wonderful Hercules. He really embodied human plus god. Although, I think it was the fabulous arms that did it for me. Not so bulky that he was grotesque, but beautiful, sculpted arms. That's what first hooked me about my husband ... amazing arms. I have no favorite episode. I loved them all. The guest characters were great!!! Although, I suspect that the draw to the show was filming in New Zealand, rather than the ratings.

Kevin Sorbo was great in the role I agree. He has the right body build. I like it myself as well :) Of course I liked Iolaus a bit better. I don't know, I think it was the way things never went right for him.

Wow, I didn't realize they still showed it on tv to be honest! I have seen some episodes but never followed it well. Like most series I tend to forget their on or have so much to do I never get to watch them! But what I've seen I thought was pretty good.

Well they ended the series a while ago but they do show it on Sci-Fi channel now and then. I wish they would show it more often or on a regular basis.

I did use to like that show and watch it some when I was younger. I didn't watch it a whole lot though 'cause I didn't watch too much TV back in those days. We only had one TV in the house. I can't really answer those questions either cause I don't remember a whole lot about it :( Sadly I remember more about Zena than Hercules.

I loved that show!!! I used to watch it all the time! I really liked Michael Hurst as Iolaus, but there were just so many good characters that it's hard to pick. I liked Kevin Smith, I was so sad when he passed away! I'm a huge Bruce Campbell fan, and I was really fond of his character Autolycus. I'm not sure that I have a favorite episode. It's been so long since I watched this show. Of course I'm really fond of the ones that had Xena in them, since I was also a fan of that show, which broke off from this one.

I enjoyed Hercules because we could watch it as a family, and we all enjoyed it. We also watched the spin-off Xena. There is only one word for Kevin Sorbo, "HOTTIE". lol

We watched both as well and you're right they were shows the whole family could watch. My neice loved Xena. She had the barbie type dolls of Xena, Gabrielle and Callisto. Finding the Gabrielle one was not easy.

A fan of the show Hercules? Oh yes I am! *waves hand* When I put this show down in my Interest I figure there would be nothing posted about it, but here you go and post something about a show that had stole my heart as a kid. XD I used to watch every episode of the show even if it was a rerun. It was one of the best TV shows I had ever watched. In fact at the time, I would get up in the morning to get some breakfast but then hear the intro on my mother's TV. Both my brother and myself would dash towards her room seconds later, the food was left where it was. She always thought it was so funny that the two of us would race into her room like that every time Hercules would come on. It was really a show that I will always remember as the one to bring my family together (then Xena but not as much.). Perhaps I should look into getting the DVDs of this great show, I know my mother would love to see Iolaus again (while I was more of a Herc fan). XD

I know I should look into the DVD's as well. I was more for Iolaus as well. Hercules was good looking but Iolaus was more my type I guess. Of course Kevin Smith as Ares was very dreamy as well :) they had several good looking men on that show.

Ah maybe Amazon will be the place we will find them? ^^- Now don't get me wrong I like Iolaus too(really who doesn't like Ioluas? He is awesome!) I even watched that one ep of Andromeda that had both Kevin Sorbo and Micharl Hurst in it (and seeing how I wasn't a big fan of Andromeda that was something for me. ^^). ooh yea Kevin Smith was quite a good looking fellow and you are right about that! A lot of men on the show were _very_ good looking, and even the non-hot ones(Salmoneus) were good to like. XD At the time I watched the show for the stories and action, but now I'm old enough to realize why mother would watch the show with us. XP Those guys are so steamy and now she laughs at me when I stare a bit too much at Hercules or Ioluas in pics/videos these days. XDD Speaking of videos, have you been to "Mary Crawford's Vices" site? She made some really good musicvideos for the show, and since you said something about Window Twanky...one of of her best MV would be the one with Window, with the song "Holding out for a Hero" it is quite a video. X3

I loved this show, however, I don't have your acumen for actors names and roles and episode content, you're so good at that stuff. I just love the whole mythical scenario and in particular the way modern day influences and language are thrown in. The (almost) slapstick comedy I'm not sure about. Xena is another fave of mine and I'd love when the two heroes would meet up. I think Xena's sense of humour needs some work, she's way too serious all the time but it suits her persona and sense of justice. When I was little I would watch Sinbad the Sailor movies, Jason and the Argonauts and Ali Baba. These fscinated me as a child...I'd still watch them now if they were shown. lol.

I loved the one movie they did of Sinband with Patrick Wayne and I think Jayne Seymour. It was enjoyable although the effects were not the greatet. I enjoyed both hercules and Xena. I'm not always that great and remembering the stuff but I cheat and check out things at imdb.com It usually has what I'm looking for. If you watched both series along with Lord of the Rings the one that played Eomer in LOTR played Cupid and Cesear in the Xena and Hercules series. Just one tid bit I know.
