After dinner sometimes you just want to go straight to bed. This is not a good practice I know. That is the perfect way to develop acid reflux disease. When I had a dishwasher I would put them directly in the washer right after. Considering I hate to wash dishes, probably worse than pumping gas. Sometimes I don't feel like it. If my husband does not wash them ,chances are they will sit there until tomorrow, what do you do?

I try to wash dishes as soon as I use them. I really hate seeing a sink full of dishes and eating utensils. I like to cook and I make a salad every other day. I cannot begin to prepare anything if there is dirty dishes in the sink. One thing I do is buy paper and foams plates. They come in handy when you just warming something up in the microwave or making something simple. With all that said, I still find myself cleaning dirty dishes left in the sink over night. So you are not alone. Lloyd

The paper and foams plates do come in handy. I keep them on hand all the time. Thanks for the best response. Lloyd

Hi kynni204, Well, we all have our own ways. I have to wash the dishes at night. I don't feel right if I don't. Sometimes my granddaughter washes them but I prefer doing them myself. I can't stand a dirty plate or silverware in the dish rack. I like the satisfaction of wiping down the counters and turning off the lights. In the morning there is no mess to contend with. To each is own I say...Good question, take care...

I like to wash them right after dinner. I can't sleep if the kitchen's left messy. Same with my bedroom I clean up before goin to bed. If I leave a used glass in the sink, I can't be in peace, I have this urge to clean up. It's weird, I think I'm like Monica of friends, (if you've seen the show), I want everything organized.

I 'have' to wash my dishes right after dinner. It is like an obsession. I hate the thought of 'stuck on' food on my dishes. I do dishes the whole time that I am cooking anyway so doing then after dinner is now problem for me. There is only a few then.

I generally rinse the dishes at the least. We have a dishwasher, so usually, after rinsing they go into the dishwasher. I didn't know leaving dishes is a way to develop acid reflux. It is a good way to grow bacteria, though.

Going to sleep on a full stomach gives you acid reflux...not the dishes( you're playing right) You body digesting food while you sleep gives you acid reflux

Leaving dishes in the sink is a no-no in our house. Insects are attracted to the smell and food debris on the dishes and they'll be sure to crawl all over them if left overnight. This might cause diseases if the dishes will not be washed properly the next day. We don't use a dishwasher so everything has to be manual. When dishes are left overnight, it should be washed with an antibacterial dish washing soap or should be sterilized after washing to kill germs and bacteria.

Wash it right away of course! Don't want those bugs and roaches to be lurking around the kitchen, eh? It would cause diseases too, right?

I guess it just depends on my day. If I have had a very hectic and exhausting day, sometimes I will wait and do the dishes in the morning. But I would rather, and do wash them right after dinner, most of the time. I really do not like to wake up in the morning to a sink full of dishes, plus if I have to wake real early and go somewhere, I really can't stand coming home to dishes being in the sink. Because of the location of my kitchen and the front door, the sink is the first thing I see when I open the door. Have a great week.

I myself can't stand to see dishes in the sink for longer than 20 seconds. As soon as I am done with a meal the dishes are promplty done. And I don't own a dishwasher. To me, procrastinating especially when it comes to cleaning dishes and the like makes me sorry later. You wake up and there they are. Why not get it over with right after dinner so in the morning you don't have to deal with it. You are just making things harder for yourself.

And I like to run it at night time I heard its alot cheaper. My husband works weird hours and sometimes he doesnt get home till 9;30 at night so he will at least rinse them and put them in the sink for me. I'm like your husband, I don't do dishes. Although I don't like to see them in the sink, it's not that serious of an issue for me to get of my you know what & do them LOL:-) Thank God for 34Momma because if it was not for her, they would just sit there.

I can't let dishes sit in the sink because it drives me crazy. I also have a dishwasher, but I still have a lot of pots and pans that I wash by hand. I like the dishwasher because it cleans the dishes with really hot water getting rid of a lot of germs.

I always washed the dishes right after dinner. Being an obsessive compulsory to cleanliness, I can't stand the sight of all the dishes piling up on the sink. I don't go straight to bed nor sit down right away after every meal. My grandma once told me that it will give me a bloated stomach. I really don't know if its true or not. But it has became a habit of mine until now.

I am super obsessive-compulsive. I cannot take the sight of things that are unclean. No matter how late it is at night, when I get hungry and get something to eat, or like when I drink my milk after forgetting to do it dinner, I will always wash everything. Even when the housemaids have already retired for the day I would not wait for them to handle it the morning after. I would wash them myself if I want to get a good night's sleep.
