Points of light and shadow

Last spring I started seeing points of light and shadow, they can zip through walls, floors, ceilings or any solid objects. At first I thought something was either wrong with my eyes or the part of my brain that processes vision. I don't see them all the time and they don't seem to interact with anything. I thought maybe they would react to my thoughts but they don't seem to and I don't sense a presence from them the way I do from people, plants and animals. I've talked to people that see orbs of light and seen pictures of them, these don't seem to be the same phenomenon. I've never heard anyone mention seeing shadows. I can't really call them orbs because they have no definable size, edge or center. Unlike the people that see orbs of light, I can focus my vision directly on them. I was wondering if anyone has heard of or experienced the same thing?
