Hi msbiggs, It takes persistence and determination. If you find someone to publish, check them out well.
There are some good ideas on my website. Go to my profile and check my website.
Don't loose your dream and don't worry about rejections. We all get them.

Try to devote some time to writing a little bit every day. An hour if you can manage it. It's important to be consistant and give it the time it needs. Keep a notebook with you at all times and write down anything that comes to you. Sometimes when I'm out and about a line for one of my stories will come pop in my head that I want to have in whatever I'm working on at the time. If I don't write it down, I often forget it. I have a tape recorder too so that I can voice my thoughts and then listen to them and write them down later.

i think you could write all the ideas for the short stories down and list each under a new title then just work on each story just write the story and it doesnt matter what its like and then go through and add to it maybe once youve got the titles think about the storylines for each whats going to happen a theme or the characters or if theres a message in your stories associated content have lots of short stories maybe read a few see how the authors have written them and what styles

i think you can start by answering these questions:
1. What type of book will it be?
2. Who is the target audience?
3. What is the scope of the book?
Good luck! Happy writing!

Wow, that's great! Well, I guess you just have to find the perfect time to write. Get an inspiration. In my case, once I'm inspired, I really let the words flow out, even if it takes me all day, I just type everything down. I edit later. Another reason I do this is so that I could finish the story that I'm writing. I have this "sickness" of not finishing what I've started. Inspiration only lasts for a little while. Then when an obstacle comes (like more schoolwork) and my writing gets held up for a few days, I just lose my track. So maybe just really hold on to your inspiration, write everything that pops into your mind, edit later.
