Question for the smokers?

Do you inhale when you smoke cigarettes or anything you prefer to smoke? I have heard of people who do not inhale and this just baffles me. It seems pointless to smoke at all if you are not going to inhale. Can anyone explain this to me? Do you inhale when you smoke? If not, why?

I really don't know what they smoke, because it doesn't provide with any feeling (generally generated by nicotine). On the other hand, it is better to not inhale this cause less damage to the body, and they are never real addicted in that way.
