how do you trust people?

I have a problem of trust. I do trust people any how and easily share their problems and try to find solutons to them as possible as i can in whatever way i deem it right.However, it sometimes comes out that those people i'm dealing with are cheats and fraudulent persons. they come to you and when they get what they want you are then ridiculed.
It's now a big problem for me to trust people but there are honest and genuine people. How can one fish out the genuine and the fraudsters?
I feel so sad when people are so mischievous and cheating when they have to toil to earn their due respect.

I actually just started a discussion on this myself. most of the time I want to trust people but it takes a lot. I feel like someone has to prove a lot to me before I can trust them.. I was picked on a lot as a kid, and sometimes when I thought someone liked me I found out they were talking behind my back. But I try to trust people until they give me a reason not to.

I have a trust problem too I find it really hard to trust some one, It takes a long time for me to trust some one, I find I just have to get to know the person realy good befor I start giving them trust, And untill I trust them I dont tell them any thing personal about myself because I find if you open up to some one your giving them the chance to hurt you.
