I have been to Cuernavaca, Mexico before, but I did not have a 4 yr old with me. I will be in Spanish classes as will he during the day, but how do we go about sight seeing with out him running away or being stolen....he's too stranger friendly. I already have the money spent to go, but his behavior has increased to more complicated and is causing some concern. Should I cancel going or just use walking reins with him? Any ideas would be helpful. We leave in July and will be there a month or more.

Hey Venis!!!!! I have seen the various people use the walking reins. I know that some people will look at you a little strangely if they have not seen walking reins before. I know when I first saw them I thought that is was awful. I was much younger then and did was not exposed to hyper children. Now, I have seen parents have to go through so much with their children. It is better to be safe than sorry. I would use the reins. God bless you. Kimberly

I suggest the exact same thing. I think if you're going to Mexico, with what I know about crimes and kids there, it would be really unsafe for him to be running around. I have see great walking reins that look like stuffed animals. I saw a woman at the mall a few weeks back and though, oh what a cute teddy bear backpack her son is wearing, and when I looked closer it was a wlaking rein that had a retractable lead and the part the child puts on looked like a teddy bear backpack except it has x-crossed snaps in the front. I think it even doubled as a small backpack too. I thought, wow, now there is a smart woman! The child didn't seem to mind at all. You might want to check out ebay or amazon to see if you can find any simliar ones, maybe Toys-R-Us? Good luck!
