Good girl mel - I wouldn't expect anything else from you! I have always been like this myself - it amazes me how many people can watch others struggling and not lift a finger to help them! I am raising my kids to help in any way they can and hope they follow your example honey!

I, myself, am surprised that no one actually moved in to help her, particularly someone else who was getting onto the train. Anyway, with her asking for help, that does surprise me that no one else stepped up to help.

It does appear that the way of the gentelman has gone by the way side. It is us as parents that this has happend. mothers gone from the home working and not being at home to teach their childern the finer manners that they should know. I guess that they are expected to just pick them up. I do help people out as much as I can. I usually volunteer one of my grandkids though because I am disabled. and usually have one of them with me and they are willing to help. Some times people just don't think or realize that people need help even when they ask. Someone else will do it. I might lose my seat.

Good for you Mel. I would be surprised if there weren't men just standing around who could have helped and didn't, but you did. The giver of help always benefits more than the receiver, so of course you felt good.
I find it quite odd at times when I'm shopping. I am an extremely healthy and fit person so I sometimes forget I am old. I have always been in the habit of helping older people in the supermarkets; getting things off higher shelves, lifting heavy objects, helping push an obstinate trolley round the end of an isle etc. Recently, people have noticed me stretching to get something from a higher shelf and helped me - and I feel so odd. I feel a fraud. I am quite able to get it, but it must be because I am old that people think I need help. Of course, I smile and thank them, but it does come as a shock.
Keep up the good work, especially with your mum. She needs looking after, but I know you always do.

Honey ,I try to let others go first and open doors when someone has a full hand or help with whatever I can.It only takes a second to do some of these things and if you helped the lady then she helps someone and they help and on and on...
Good for you Sweets...you're a sweet gal..

I see, a plus for you Mel.
Those were little things that we sometimes forget or we just tend to ignore to help. We all have that responsibilities to one another or to our fellowmen and one of those is to help whenever someone needs it.
Keep it up.Godbless!
