I have my own bible, i have 2 bibles one is full of pictures from New King James Precious Moment edition.
Sometimes i read a bible, just read that even i don't understand the meaning.
But maybe sometimes when something happen to me, God open my mind and then i realized the meaning of the bible.
Bible is a very difficult to understand, different people can have different meaning.
God bless you

I don't have a bible. The reason is simple, because I am not a Christian LOL. But I found a bible in my home town (mandarin version) It's a gift from my parent's friend. When I was in childhood, I found it accidentally in the cabinet and did read some interesting stories in it. I can still remember a few sentences in the first page.

Congratulations, at least you triggered a good start, you remember a few sentences even though you are not Christian. By the way, if you are not a Christian, then you are...?

I am a buddhist. My mum brought me to the Buddhism association in Taiping and I learn about its teaching there. It preach about doing good deeds and avoid doing bad deeds, and stress on the importance of practice. I found that it's not only religious but it's also philosophical.

When I was teens I used to spend school holidays with a big group of young friends to the nearby hill bungalows for a stay of two or three nights.
It was rumored that ghosts were happened to occur in the depth of night. There was bible in certain room. You know boys always the type liked to frighten girls by telling dreadful ghost stories in the cold quite night. After that all girls would rush to the room and simply opened a page and read aloud the sentence in the bible hoped that by doing this would chase away the dreadfulness.
We were told that ghost dared not come near any people holding a bible. This was the time I ‘own’ a bible lol.

That was ridiculous. We never use bible as our protection, but we read bible to speak His words of truth and to praise His name. Hm, hopefully you read your bible not just "own" it. :)

I own quite a few holy/sacred books, in hard copy format (even more on the computer), including a couple Bibles. I have two NIV versions of the Bible (one more specifically geared toward teenagers, it was a sweet sixteen present from my aunt, the other more specifically geared toward mothers). I also have a KJV Bible.
I read them occasionally, usually when I'm looking for a particular passage or story, to refresh my memory. Currently though, I've been reading the Baghavad Gita more often, I'd like to understand that one (I was raised in a primarily Christian environment, so I already have a pretty good understanding of that religion and it's text).

I'm pleased to hear that. Keep up your persistence! There is one very useful bible software, you can compare different versions of bible at the same time and read commentaries from different points of view-- the software is e-sword, i guess you know it.

Yes, I have my own bible and it is the most precious thing in my life because through these I came to know the most precious person in my life. In fact i have different version of it, but my favorite version of it is King James Version, I believe the most accurate version among all, praise God for that wonderfull book, the bible. SECONDLY do I read the bible? Definitely! I see to it that everyday i read the bible, because without reading it everyday in my life it is impossible for me to live without it, as George Washington tell to his nation I qoute..."it is impossible to rule the world without the bible..." especialy the Lord Jesus Christ told in Matthew 4:4 "Man shall not live by bread alone (physical food) but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (spiritual food) and that is reading his precious word the bible, I read the bible because of it's TREMENDOUS BENEFITS are the following:
I. Because of the often-repeated command to read it Joshua 1:8 "These book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shall meditate of it day and night, and that thou do it according to all that is written in it, for then thou shall make thy way prosperous, and then thou shall have good success also 2Timothy 2:15 "Study to shew thy self approve unto God, a work men that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly deviding the word of truth especially our Lord Jesus Christ in John 5:39 "Search the scripture (the bible) for in them you will have eternal life and they are they which testify of me. Secondly, because the bible is Gods chosen way to accomplish His Divine will no.1 sinners are save through the message of the bible accroding to Romans 10:13-17 "How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, how beautifull are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believe our report? so then FAITH COMES by hearing, by the word of God (which is the message from the bible) also in 1Peter 1:21 "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of in corruptible, by the word of God which liveth and abideth forever. also in the book of James 1:18 "(To support from this facts) tells us "Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth (the bible)..." And thirdly, we as believers in Christ are sanctified through the message of the bible first and formost our Lord Jesus according to John 17:17 " Sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth. Also apostle Paul told us in 1Thessalonians 4:3 " For these is the will of God, even your sanctification, that you should obstain from fornication and one of the favorite character of the old testament is none other than David he told us in Psalms 119:9-11 " where a young man cleanse his way? by taking hid thereto according to thy word with my whole heart have I sought thee, o let me not wonder from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid (store in) mine heart, that I might not sin against thee also King Solomon (the wisest who ever live in the history of the world) told in Proverbs 30:5,6 " every word of God is pure, he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not into his words, less he reprove thee, and thou be found liar" in addition to these the great apostle Paul told us in Acts 20:32 "And now, brethren, i commend you to God, and the word of his grace, which is ABLE TO BUILD YOU UP, and to give you an inheritance among all of them which are sanctified". FORTLY, because our enemy the devil has read it (in order to deceive us) during the account of Matthew 4, "Christ is tempted three times by the devil. on each occation the savior answered satan with the phrase,"It is written" and then he proceed to quote from the word of God as found in the book of Deautoronomy our Lord is always right on its context in qouting the word of God. On the other party satan the tempter is always qouting also,"It is written" is repeated four times in Matthew 4. It simply means, and shows us that even our great enemy the devil uses the word of God to deceive us because he use it or qoute the word of God out of its context of the scripture and many cults today also uses the word of God out of its context to deceive many people to their destruction that's the reason why we need to study the bible systematically, habitually and carefully and all of this can be done through the help of the Holy Spirit the best way we can defeat satan through the power of the word of God, the bible, as Paul told us in Ephsians 6:17 "And take the helmet of salvation, and the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, WHICH IS THE WORD OF GOD" realy the bible is a WONDERFULL BOOK! Praise God for these PRECIOUS BOOK, the BIBLE. I have many more reasons of its wonderfull benetfits. Really the BIBLE MUST BE READ BY EVERY PERSON IN THE WORLD TO PERSONALLY MEET HIS CREATOR, SAVIOUR, and THE PERSON WHO LOVES US THE MOST, LOVER OF OUR SOUL FINDING THE VERY PURPOSE OF OUR LIFE PRAISE BE TO OUR LORD JESUS, AMEN!

Good! In Ecclesiastes chapter 4, verse 9-10: Two are better than one; For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he fallenth, and hath not another to lift him up.
