What would you have done?

I was out today in the car with my husband, when a car pulled out in front of us, my husband used the car horn as a warning, but this car started to slow down and got by the side of us and then the driver spat at me through the car window! My husband then forced their car of the road, then we jumped out and ran to the driver, there was 4 men in the car and they jumped out also, my husband was trying to hit the driver as he was furious at the way he disrespected me by spitting, one of the men was holding my husband back and saying he didn't mean it, it was really bad and quite frightening, there was 4 of them and they could have had knives or even guns, should we have stopped, what would you have done?

What a nasty, awful even to happen to you!
I think it says a lot about your husband that he jumped in to rescue your honor like that, bt at the asme time, the way people are now adays, I don't thik it was worth it. Someone who would spit at you like that could be capable of nearly anything. There are some real waack jobs out there. Best to stay clear!
