I have to admit that I feel smarter after drinking coffee...maybe it's because I'm more alert...
Well, i know coffee doesn't make you literally smarter but because caffeine stimulates your brain, you can perform better mentally with the intelligence you have. It's a proven fact...and many times after i drink some coffee i start to "click" at work....lol...
Ok,you all will start to laugh...but is what i see it at me...coffee is very important for me,and i can't start my day without...
Who seems to feel like after a cup with coffee his/her brain work more easely?
...All i know is i need coffee and...everything started to click!

Absolutely.Sometimes just the smelling of fresh coffee makes me to feel myself more energetic and smart. In the aromatherapy they use coffee essential oils and different soaps with essential oil of coffee for more energy and concentration.
Another cup of coffe?:-P

Why will I laugh? The caffeine ticks me too;-) It takes the dreamy me out of me and wakes up the edison within me.Now I am blagging ,lol.Just kidding.Did einstein drink coffee too ?lol I dont know ,but if he did probably we would have the theories of life in space sorted out.Oh wait,it's for biologists ,not physicists right?Well, that's my point exactly.Coffee could have stimulated him into thinking about genesis in terms of laws of nature ,lol. You think this could be used as a commercial idea for selling coffee ? lol Kidding again :-P

Hello fellow coffee addict. You certainly cannot beat a good coffee. I always get myself a really nice takeaway cappuccino on my way to work. I feel I can't function for the day until I have had a decent cup of coffee.

I also like to drink a cup of coffee in the morning. I don't know if it makes me smarter, but it tastes good. Caffiene is definitely a stimulant and it might affect some more than others...so keep on drinking your coffee and enjoying the benefits.

Caffeine keeps me awake for an hour tops. I am not an avid coffee drinker, but I learned to take in my daily morning dose of coffee from my colleagues at school. I think my brain works just the same, although you're right, coffee can be a stimulant if it has caffeine in it. It keeps you conscious or aware of your surroundings, and keeps you going. It's also addicting. So far, I'm not yet addicted to it. Happy coffee drinking and happy myLotting!

A cup of hot strong coffee can make me active at any part of the day or night even though i am in deep sleep. I never say no to coffee which i feel is most stimulating agent for me. I do drink a cup of coffee when i am not feeling comfortable at work place.
Good that you are being smarter after having a good cup of coffee. I agree with you that it is proven and good stimulator for brain.

It is the same with me. Having a bit of coffee knocks the cobwebs straight out of my brain. II feel more able to deal with whatever is coming my way.

I tend to agree. I don't drink coffee that often, but I do drink green tea fairly often which also has caffeine.
My thoughts tend to become more clear and focused, and if it's early in the morning the "cloudiness" seems to be lifted. I don't have any caffeine in the morning, instead I drink peppermint tea - partly for the taste, and also because it has a stimulating effect without any caffeine.
Before rock climbing competitions though I always drink a cup of green tea, and I find I'm able to focus alot better, and direct my attention to where it's needed most.
However, the effect only lasts so long, and then I usually feel more sluggish than before I drank the tea or coffee. I guess thats the classic high then low that accompanies most uppers.

I can't function in the morning without my coffee. I have fresh coffee and a croissant for breakfast and it sets me up for the day.

Woohoo! Way to go! I love coffee too. However, surprisingly, I have never felt its effects. I mean, people say it keeps you awake, it stimulates you, several times I have had coffee at bed time and then within half an hour have gone to bed and have slept like a log. But I have felt its indirect effects. Since I love coffee, after having a cup the mind feels good, and a mind feeling good works better.
