Why dogs can be eaten by human?

They say that dogs are our best of friends. They are animal but dogs has a heartlike of human. They have feelings. I hate people who kill dogs and eat them. They don't have a heart. When I saw some one killing dogs, I can 't help myself not to cry. My step-dad even cries when he sees chicken killed. We had dogs and died bcoz old ages and illness but not of killing them for food reasons.
