I was in a car accident going about 40 mph and a woman turned right in front of me, claiming she didn't see me coming. All I had time to do was hit the brakes as I thought to myself, we're gonna hit. We did. I had a seat belt, but not a shoulder harness. We both got out of our cars seemingly ok. Then my head started to hurt and when we hit I must have hit my head on the steering wheel and blacked out for a second. I ended up going in the ambulance to the hospital, after giving the police report. I knew my phone number, but couldn't remember it when the paramedics asked me and they said not to worry, that's normal. Anyway my forehead swelled up and I ended up having two black eyes.

I didn't have an accident ,but had a black eye after a fight as a kid, lol. One of my friends was in a hostile mood and unleashed himself on us .He is joking and I too loved to give back the jokes, lol.I held him tightly from behind to make him immobile. He asked me to leave him a few times ,but I knew if I left him he'd start his games again. He was trying hard to free himself off my grip, but couldn't.When our teacher finally arrived I let him go ,but due to his intertia we both fell and his elbow hit my eye.It wasn't intentional on his part and even if it was ,I had no one to complain but myself.I should have never let go of him :-P That gave me a black eye and as this happened in the teacher's presence ,next day the guy was called up at the assembly and scoulded by our principal;I didn't witness it because I missed school the next day. When I went back,I apologized to him.

You were fortunate that you injuries were minimal. The only time I had a black eye was when I was out partying many many many years ago. We pulled along side the road so we could all make a pit stop. Well, I went for the bushes and wouldn't you know that a car came along in the distance. I yanked up my pants and headed for the car. Not thinking too well, I forgot to duck my head enough and hit the side of my face on the car. OUCH. The next day I had quite a shiner. I wore my sunglasses for 2 weeks, rain or shine.

I was in a car accident too, I hit the steering wheel. My eyes sweeled so much, one was shut for 2 days, both of them turned black. I looked worse than Rocky after fighting Apollo Creed on the movie. I also had deep bruises from the seat belt. My face then turned black and blue, it stayed that way for a month and a half. I had huge bags filled with blood under my eyes, I was so worried the bags would stay. Thankfully as my face healed the bags went away. I still have a lump on my eye brow where I hit the steering wheel. It was a head on car wreck. Thankfully I lived thru it, my passengers did too.

My black eye came courtesy of my ex-husband, and it wasn't during one of my beatings. We were on a miniature golf course. He decided that instead of putting the ball he would take a real golf swing at it as if he was on a real golf course. The golf club hit me on the upswing. It hit me in between the bridge of my nose and my eye brow leaving me with a black eye. It hurt like heck. The staff at the golf course were asking me all sorts of questions like did I know what day of the week it was and I was making jokes like "Can you believe I'm going to marry this guy?" That was one of the many clues I got that I probably shouldn't have married him. LOL!

I"m sorry about the accident. Hope you feel better soon and that all the swelling and bruising goes away fast.
I have to say I am really lucky I was never in a car accident, but I did have black eyes before hehe
Mostly when I was a kid. A tomboy with short temper and always ready to fight if I thought I was right.. I was bound to end up with a few of those, and give out a few too:)
More recently I had a black eye in September when I was on yard duty at school and was hit with a ball.

I have never got a black eye although, my daughter had. As she tells me she was riding her bike and while trying to hop the curb, her foot slipped off her pedal. She was still holding on the handle bars and she fell off head first then her knee. She was alright and got a back eye.

First I like to say, I'm glad that you were ok. Saturday I came close to being in a car accident myself with my two youg kids with me. If the guy getting over didn't see that I couldn't get over and couldn't go forward and most of all not seeing my oldest daughter was in the passenger side. He would have pushed me over into another car at around 50-60 mph.
My black eyes came from me getting up in the middle of the night at my inlaws home, and walking right into a beam. I walked into the same beam on two different nights, giving me two black eyes.

Wow, that must have been quite a shock. I have had 2 black eyes at one time and a busted up face along with it from an abusive boyfriend. I soon left him afterwards.

Thank God you got away from the accident with only black eyes it could have been worse!
I once got in a fight with a guy, it appeared that we (me and my brother) had completely overlooked the fact that we were on his "Home Turf", he called for reinforcements and me and my bro were outnumber like 2 to 10! we got the thrashing of our lives after that i was sporting a black eye, a busted lip and my bro had bruises all over his face!
I learned a very important lesson that day! fighting is injurious to health!:)

I have had a black eye twice. The first time I was about 20 and did something really dumb. I bent over to pick up some clothes off my bedroom floor, grabbed ahold of my bathroom door to steady myself, and ended up moving the door enough to knock myself out. I realized then they weren't kidding when they said you see stars. The second time I was playing with my son, who was about 3 at the time, and somehow our heads collided and he broke my nose. I saw stars that time too, and I could see my nose without looking into the mirror for about a week.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear about your accident but I'm glad you were o.k.
I've never been in more than a very slight fender-bender and a 2 hit & run rear-endings (on their part) but nothing serious.
I've never had a black eye in my life and I hope I never do. I bet they are somewhat painful not to mention draw attention from people wondering who beat you up. *lol*

my favorite black eyes were always given to me while dancing in the pits at hardcore shows. i was always one of those girls that got right in there in the pit hardcore dancing with the guys. It was great fun. A few times, some guy and i would collide and since i am small, i would usually get the brunt of it.

Yes I had one...just last week. My son and I was a having a blast in a pool. I was teaching him how to swim, and I was so happy that he was able to. I was about to get him out of the pool when suddenly a man hit me in the face. Accrding to him he did not see me because he was swimming. I was so mad at him that at first I did not feel the pain in my eye. He was a grown man, around 5"7 and he was swimming at the kids pool (3 ft deep). I yelled at him and told him how stupid he was to be swimming at 3 ft. Good thing that I was the one he hit, what if he hit a child. I'm sure the child would be knocked out. I only felt the pain an hour after the incident. When we got home, i saw that my left eye was swollen..and the next day it was black and blue. My very first balck eye.

Hi there lala, Yes I have had a black eye before. I got it way back in my school days, from playing basket ball. This guy went up for the rebound and as he was coming down from his jump I went up and his elbow smacked me right in the eye, and I freaked out and attacked him, I was sent to the nurse to get my eye looked at, after that I went and apologised to him for attacking him lol...

glad you turned out to be okay. I never had a black eye in my life. I never had a head injury either so I am lucky that way. I did have to have physio on my knee because I fell on it in the subway but that is about all.

I was in a big hurry to back my car out of the driveway and didn't notice my son's car parked behind my car, but off to the side, so I didn't see it when I looked out the door while backing out. I pulled out kind of fast, and hit his car really hard. My head hit the door frame, and I got out to see what happened. I had to walk around to the back of the car before I saw my son's car. I went into the house, and discovered that I had a large swollen area around my eye, and my eye was starting to turn colors, and it hurt pretty bad. I put ice on it, and when my son came home he said, hey Mom, some a----le hit my car, and I laughed, and said, yeah, that was me. I put a pretty good dent in his car, but mine was not bad.

I've never had two black eyes, but I've had singletons.
I got my first when I was 2 or 3, courtesy of a neighbour girl who used to pick one me. I guess one day I fought back and there was a hell of a tussel. She gave me a black eye but she ended up with a bloody nose and worse, so everyone felt I came out on top. I have no memory of the fight, but I remember my family coming into my bedroom the following day and them all examining m, 'shiner'.

When I was a teen I ran accidentially into a mailbox out in the street. I did not watch were I was going and consequently had a black eye for about ten days. I tried to disguise it with sunglasses, it was so embarassing as many people thought I had been into a fight. ;-)
