I thought this was a great race...never really liked gordon to much but he got his 77th win today and that's a big deal, really can't ever see an of these other modern day racers getting as high as he's gotten.
Thought the end was good, don't think anyone actually took Tony out, just people in the wrong place at the wrong time. No one had a chance to catch gordon anyways he was fast all weekend long.

I definitely agree with the track officials putting an end to fan participation that could hurt other spectators or sportsmen and officials.
Racing has an element of danger that can not be avoided. We don't have to add other aspects with displays of disrespect to drivers and teams.

I really want Jeff Gordon to win but it sure isn't looking good right now with 40 laps to go! Kyle Busch crashed again! Hope he is OK he has declined an interview.
As long as Tony Stewart doesn't win I am good with whoever does. I just don't like Tony at all.!
Happy 56th Birthday to Dale Sr. Today is his Birthdday and he would have only been 56!
It's anybodies race at this stage... stay tuned!

And your wish was granted by the great powers that be... LOL
I look forward to the next race. There was a time that I did a running commentary but I don't want to push the edges of the envolope too far with the big "c" if you know what I mean...

You can listen on the radio but it would be good to have had some racing experience to really get into the concepts.
I went to the track at a young age when my father was the mechanic on a local stock car, they were the last flathead to run on the track and they were the track champions too! So I got to watch a lot of races in my younger years. It was fun rooting or yelling to help your driver move to the front, as though your wish could be commanded by some higher power. And all of the different things that could happen?
One time a car slowed hard in front of our car, and our car ended up on top of the car in front. They took a lap around the track as a double decker... LOL That is a vivid memory, I watched it happen... I wanted our car to get around the car in front, but I never expected the cars to play leap frog... Except our driver didn't quite have enough power to complete the jump... If I could I would ask dad why the car was so weak... LOL
The best part of racing is when we have close contests where I high degree of skill is used to pass and or win. Good clean fun, good competition, safe races.

I don't think that Nascar is catering to Jeff Gordon, anyone has a chance to win at that track you have to be at the right place at the right time and that is where Jeff was.
I loved watching Davey Allison race.

This made gordons second week at winning and I hope that next week there willbe a different winner! I really think they should have raced 2 more laps to see who really would have won. I know they started the 2 laps once but those 2 didnt really get finished anyway I think that Gordon should have helped Jr It would have been an honor to both father and son to have won on dads birthday. I mean they need to think about it if it had of been there dads bday they would want to win. I know they all love earnhardt but give a break there.

Catering to Gordon??? He wins 2 races and they are catering to Him? He has won 4 Winston Cups and is now leading in the Nextel Cup, 3 years ago He lost out in the last race, 2 years ago He wasn't even in the chase, and last year He was in only until the next to last race, finishing 6th.
I've been watching Nascar since the days of the King, Cale Yarborough, the Allisons, so I am not new to it, but it is time for people to realize this is become a sport that is enjoyed and successfully raced by more the just the good 'ol boys. I would love to see Mark Martin and Dale Jarret make a run, and what happens to Mike Waltrip this year. Lets get into the 21st century and realize they are professional racers and not the shine runners of the 50s and 60s who would run the same car they drove on the road.
I root for Gordon, Jr., would most love to see Kyle Petty suprise people in the winners circle. It's a new day and we have to realize it. To get back to the days of Southern Fried Racing, find a local track with local drivers. Some nights it's more fun then the big races on Sundays.
