Sci- Fi Book Ideas

The movie, I Robot really sparked some interests in writing a science fiction book. Not something like Star Trek, but something along the same tone and story type as I, Robot. But I have no idea what topic/plot I should write about. Any sci-fi book ideas?
I don't want the same old robot takes over the universe plot
