Has This Happened To You?

I don't reject friends on my lot, but I have found that I need to be careful of them. I recently had to delete one of them because she had posted a topic that I had done just a few days ago. To add insult to injury, she got more responses than I did.
I did not report this person, because I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, because I am quite sure that at one time or another I have done the same thing. But I feel that if our minds are that alike, then she should stay on her side of Mylot and let me stay on my side.

Hi I was going to start a discussion on this subject. The number of copy cats are increasing in mylot.Today I also deleted one member from my friendlist after started to know that he is a copy cat.He is copying discussions from a mylot member and he openly challenged the member that he will continue this in the near future. If someone do this I will straight complain to mylot administration.Such people make dirty the place.Mylot has to survive forever if we are enough alert.

I have not done that many discussions and I don't believe that anyone has copied any of them. But if they have it seems like I would know it because I usually get an email when one of my Mylot friends starts a discussion. So far none have been one of mine. Also, what if you make your discussions so personal that it would be impossible for anyone to copy them without it being so obvious. Just a thought.

I get where you are coming from, but I like to do topics on whatever crosses my mind at the time. I understand that sometimes we make hit on the same subject as someone else, but when it is a few days later and that person is on your friends list, it becomes pretty obvious.
I am very opinionated, I am not afraid to speak my mind, and I love to debate, but I don't like a lot of confusion in my life. I like peace. And if I feel that a person is trying to start a problem, I will get away from them as quickly as possible.

That is the main reason I don't add friends on here. I am too afraid that people will try to take advantage in a bad way.

It is an honor to me when people request to be my friend. I like having friends, because we can help and encourage each other. We really get to know them if we read and respond to each others discussions. I wont allow one bad apple to spoil the whole bunch. I have had a little to much of that in my life and it makes me sick.

something same like this happened to me too. Its not exactly someone from my friendlist. one user answered my discussion and after few days i noticed that the same user started the exactly same discussion. but i don't think just by loking at a person's profile u can predict whether he/she is going to copy or not.

I had that experience where somebody copycat my discussion and as you say, to add insult to injury, that person gets more responses. But I did not take any action. I let that person continue his/her activities. Soon, that person will be caught and that person will be in a lot of trouble.

Waw, Rozie, i am surprised to hear that some people want to be added in your friendship list just for easier copy-paste of your ideas.
Most of the people of my lists seems inteligent and honest, but thank you for the alert, i will be more carefull:-)

Rozie I think you did the right thing and for the right reasons. I had to report someone once for copying word for word something I had written. I am careful who I add as friends, I always check out what their discussion topics are before accepting them. Not because I think I'm too good to add them, but some of them have topics that I find offensive or they just post dumb things just to get points or money. I'm here to make good friends, and learn a lot and have fun mostly. Which I am :)

Rozie,go ahead to do whatever that may trigger your rights.Well, sometimes there may be co-inciddent where the topics turn out to be the same,so it's better to check thoroughly before pointing finger on others.Have a nice day!

That's such a sad. I think we need to really observe our want-to-be friends first here in mylot. I always check to their profile first, before i approve any of my friend. And if i want to be their friend, i also check out their profile first. Maybe you both have same mind about same discussions. It could be that she is not aware that you made same discussions. There is so many people here, we must sometimes came with same discussions as well. Don't be feel so sad, Rozie37.

I don't think you have to be so angry about that friend. I found a lot of repetitions here and many topics are more or less the same. Maybe your post gave her some hint or she happened to have the same idea about it. So don't take it too seriously. Here It's only a place for chatting.

We really cannot get rid of cheaters. Almost everywhere there are cheaters. How can we eradicate this? Even authorities cannot pinpoint who are these cheaters. Authorities can only identify cheaters if they are caught cheating or reported by others. How can we prevent this? That is why sometimes i think or ask myself, is there really hope for this world to become a better place to live in? Goodluck!

its great to have new friends here in mylot but for a friend like that, quite shame for her doings. if she copy your posts exactly as you have posted then you should have reported her to the admin and yes delete her on your friends list. but if it happen that her post and your post just have some similarities maybe its just a co-incidence, cause that happened to me.

wow.. you mean your friend actually copy your discussion ? it's okay to me.. i think what most important is not who started that discussion.. but who has more friends and better reputation.. if people know you're honest and good.. definitely they won't support the other discussion.. you can rest assured on that.. because i've meet great friends here.. and they always support me.. even if someone were to copy my discussion.. i'm sure they will still choose to post in my discussion than the other one... don't you think sincerity is the most important? they copy your discussion because they want more earnings.. they're not sincere.. nobody will support them.. so.. don't worry okay? :)

If it was an exact word for word copy and paste you should report it. I think though to some extent there might be some topics that are very similar. I don't know if this is deliberate copying or if it is just because someone didn't do a search. It would be quite easy for that to happen, so I would have done the same and given her the benefit of the doubt. If it happened several times then I would also delete that so called friend because that is just stealing ideas.
kindest regards.
:)
