Well I guess it was just a matter of time before there would be a World Record Winner for "The fastest thumbs" This 13 year old from Claysburg, PA won the LG National "Texting" competition at New Yorks Roseland Ballroom. Her name is Morgan Pozgar. Look what she was able to TEXT in just 15 seconds! (with NO ERRORS) "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! Even though the sound of it is something quite atrocious. If you say it loud enough you' always sound precocious". I guarantee you I didn't even type that in 15 seconds, and she used a small phone to do it.! According to the article (PEOPLE magazine this week) she sends more than 4000 text messages a month! That's 133 messages a day average for 30 days. That's amazing. I hope she is that proficient at her Math and Science and History. I wonder how fast she types? How do you feel about Kids TEXTING?

My kids love to text their friends. My son can do it pretty fast, but my daughter is still getting used to it. But NO WAY would I pay for 4000 text messages a month. My kids would lose their phones for a lot less than that!

Mine to!!! I know there are programs that they sell now that it's all inclusive and you can text and make calls all you want but still! That is just way overboard. That tells me they are not doing other things that I am sure need attention.

I Love it a Texting Disorder..... Is there a 12 step program for that? or do you have to check in to a Rehab center that gets NO reception at all? LOL

I wonder how well she speaks. Texting, texting and texting leaves little time for "normal" development of human relationships.

Really good point - there is a commercial on TV here in Calif that talks of a young teen that got in trouble for having a high phone bill appear at home- Because she was "Texting" too much, and the whole commerical is done in Internet short talk abbreviations etc. She said Young lady who have you been texting? the child says "IDK my BFF Jill" which in our lingo means I don't know, My best friend forever Jill" it goes on to use other ones and the point I am making is that they speak in a sort of tongues of their own and have this short hand that I am betting doesn't lend itself well to learning to spell the real words that they tend to use. I would think that yes the social skills of a World Class "Texter" could be in serious jeopardy. Again.... I go back to Teaching your children how to behave in public, how to be respectful of adults/ elders... how to fit in, how to contribute to society. Is all that lost?
