Why would Frodo become the one who carry the ring in LOTR?

Gandalf could not carry the ring because he is a guardian of one of the 3 elven rings which Sauron looks for. Also in taking the One ring, he is tempted to use it at first to do good. However the One ring corrupts everyone. In the end Gandalf will become another version of Sauron. This is not what the wise desires. Frodo carries the ring because he was given the One ring by Bilbo. Frodo has come in contact with the ring and will forever have a desire for it. Look at what happened to Smeagol (gollum). Having other hobbits carry the ring instead of Frodo will jeopardise the mission because Frodo will be consume by his need to posses the One ring for himself.
