free web sites

I've been looking to set up web sites for a few interests and businesses that I am into and I've heard that there are sites where you can do this for free. I've tried looking around but most ask for credit card numbers which I don't have. I'm also not very good at HTML. Can anyone recommend any good free web hosting sites? thanks.

You can start for FREE at bravenet.com, http://bravenet.com . Getting a ready-template may help for beginners.

a couple I have seen used are the FreeWeb that was mentioned, http://geocities.yahoo.com , and check with your ISP, you may be able to get something from them. I know AOL has web space you can use, MSN does too (but you are stuck with their format), http://www.lycos.com does too. I know there are plenty other places, just do a search.
