There are no reports yet about the cause of the accident. It so horrible. He was such a young guy and a great pitcher. Cardinal fans are devastated.

Yes, I heard today that he was drunk. They said he had been at a sports bar and people kept buying him drinks, without him asking for them. Apparently, he drank more than people thought. It's very unusual for a MLB baseball player to die from a drunk driving accident. That tends to be more in line with NFL and NBA statistics. I hope this can bring the Cardinals together.

I definitely think that nobody on professional sports teams should go out alone. They should always be with team members or a handler. That way there will always be somebody around that has their back. Truly tragic what happened to Hancock. I do not think our Cardinals will recover from this any time soon. :-(

You know, it's really sad, but I think you are right. Some players just don't seem to know how to handle the fame or take responsibility for themselves. It's only a minority, but still, we can look at Hancock to see the consequences.
