Do you think people can get messages from their dead family members?

This is kind of an off the wall discussion but I was just think... When I was 4 months pregnant with my 2nd child her father woke up from a dead sleep crying. He said he had sen his father, who had died many years earlier. He said he told him that there was something wrong with the baby. Well of course I panicked and we had the doctor run several test and he said everything was fine. Well when my daughter was born she had a heart defect, that was undetected before birth. She has dextra cardia which is one of the defects his father had, he had major heart defects and died after several heart surgeries at age 29. Then I was talking to my dad and he said his brother who commited suicide in 1993 had come to his dreams and told him exactly how he died. Do you thikn that with both situations it was because the people missed their loved ones so badly they imagined it and the heart thing was just a coincidence or are our loved ones really communicating to us through dreams?
