What are Part time jobs?Do they really pay?

I have often read about these part time jobs in newspapers which talk about earning lots of money in a week or so.I wanted to know what exactly are these jobs about because most of these people often talk about paying some initial amount to them and then they will tell us about the earning part.Do these type of things actually work?Has anyone tried this?

I didnt try much of the paying sites because i cant trust those sites for long time where i put my valuable time .The only site which i trusted more is Mylot. It may be pating comparitively less compared to few other newbies but you can trust mylot to be there and even if you take a week off you can see your earnings updated when soembody responded you.
