Feng Shui

Feng Shui, my wife says........ is the ancient Chinese practice of placement and arrangement of space to achieve harmony with the environment.
This Sunday, she bought a book on "Feng Shui" and skimmed through it. And, today she called me at work and told me to meet her at a Shopping Mall around my house. She wants to buy some "Feng Shui" stuff.
I think she's in a killer mode..... and would do a lot of changes at home. When I went to bed and woke up in the morning.......... I thought she was workin the whole night..... lol..... I could find a whole lot of changes in the living room.......placement of the TV, Couch, the center table and a whole lot of stuff had changed.
I do not know what more strange things will I see when I reach back home. I just hope I do not feel asif I am stepping someone else's house.
Lets see........
Do yoiu beleive in Feng Shui. Do you follow it....... are the things at your home arranged as per "Feng Shui"....... is it worth to re-do the whole stuff at home just coz you found some nice book on "Feng Shui" ?

I've heard Febg Shui is good for everything ranging from mood to actual health disorders, whether or not it is true I do not know. I don't have my place organized in any specific manner, but it probably wouldn't hurt to give it a try and some day I just might do that. Let us know how it turns out.

yes, give it a try and then observe if it will really give the good vibes which your wife is hoping to achieve. if indeed that will promote harmony and good will at home, then let us all know about it. it will be an influence for the better.

hehe..hi!kukkad..I'm chinese..i dont believe in "fengshui" but my parents does. a lot of people believe in it..especially the business people..if they get a salesroom,firstly they will take a look at the "fengshui"of the room.because they believe that good "fengshui" will bring more money and happiness to them.

I do arrange things based on feng shui...mostly bedroom...but not only...I think that positive energy has to flow over my house all the time...I keep only basic from feng shui...and incorporate it in modern house..

will you please be kind enough as to give me the title of hte book which your wife bought? i already have two books on feng shui and they all came as gifts from my sister. i don't have one yet about how to proceed with proper arrangements of items in the house.
give your wife her chance. then observe if indeed there will be a good effect on how she has been doing week after week. it is supposed to introduce and effect good vibes at the home if done properly and right. good luck in your feng shui life. don't worry. feng shui is a product of years of study and is meant to make things right for us all.

No. I dont believe in such things. According to me, everything that is created in this world is according to God's will. I dont find anything wrong in arranging the things according to our will and i dont even feel necessary to place the things according to that book!

Feng shui is something amazing, as long as you believe in it. I use to have a massive tank of gold fish - i had 9 gold fish including a black moor that represented yang. It really worked, things happened as i expected, better i guess, and i took real care for my babies.

I don't know what to think of Feng Shui. My husband and I put our house on sale so we can move to Hawaii. The housing market is slow here in California and I think it's the same all around the country. Last Sunday our realtor came with an older woman and she said that she gave us some advice on how to put our different stuff in the house. That was good advice and the house looks better. But when she gave us some thread to hung from the celling on each corner of the house this made me a little suspicious. She was saying that these threads have good energy that will help sell the house. There were also other stuff like giving us a little paper envelop to throw in the water...
So I don't know if this whole thing of Feng Shui and good energy is real. I like to put stuff the way I like it.

I am not familiar with the teachings of feng shui but I have heard the term before. I am not sure I would feel compelled to rearrange everything to suit what amounts to religious teachings. I can rearrange my thoughts to suit a belief, but I don't think I could let it take over my space as well. The idea seems almost fanatical to me.
