I am a heavy Laker's fan, but boy I was mad when I saw them lose today again to Phoenix Suns. Yes Suns has a strong team but I know Lakers can beat them. Somehow, they're just not picking it up this year. Lakers is 1 to 3 versus the Suns, do you think they still have hope?

I saw one article in the papers discussing the lakers' moves in recent years. This includes trading away All-star Caron Butler and Chucky Atkins, still paying Brian Grant even though he's no longer playing, drafting Brian Cook ahead of 2007 sixth man of the year winner Leandro Barbosa or Dallas All-star Josh Howard, then giving Cook a contract extension he hasn't even earned yet, trading for guys like Kwame Brown, Radmanovic, McKie, Maurice Evans, etc and paying them loads of money. Sure, the shaq trade wasn't mitch's fault but then he should have AT LEAST asked for Dwyane Wade instead of Grant or Butler. It also compared Mitch Kupchak to Jerry West who traded for Shaq and got the Lakers 3 titles.. Kobe doesn't have much time to wait for guys like Bynum or Kwame to develop. With Bynum, he was developing pretty well at the start of the season that the Lakers didn't want to let go of him in a deal for Jason Kidd. I don't think the Nets will still want Bynum in a package for Kidd at this point but still, Bynum is someone you can throw in a package to get the quality players that Kobe wants.

Bynum is definitely a time bomb. He's hot one moment, and cold the other. Similalr to Kwame in many ways. About Jason Kid, I was actually glad that it didn't come through. I think with Jason Kid at most that the Lakers have with him is another 3 years at most.

If you will check my forecast in a previous post here named "Playoff Picture", you will see that I predicted a Suns win, but in a full length. Now that the Suns are now 3-1 against the Lakers, maybe it's a short time to celebrate, but I'm feeling that L.A.L. will win in Game 5 as the series moves back to Arizona. My new prediction though is that it will be Phoenix in six.

Seems like it. Unless the team really picks up in confidence and Kobe leading the team, they will lose like last year. For many years I think many of us thought the Lakers would become the NBA Finals, however Lakers was never the same after Shaq has gone to Miami to be with the Heats. Love Shaq, hate Shaq after he's gone Laker has just never really stepped up on their game again.

Lakers lost 119-110 thus getting eliminated from the playoffs.. so much for playing "Kobe-ball".. It didn't matter if kobe scored at will or got his teammates involved. Kobe needs better teammates to advance in the playoffs.. He knows it too.. After the game he wanted management to make changes and to make changes now.

That is correct, management has made some unwise decisions. First the bringing in of Kwame Brown, he's too young at that time when he joined the Lakers not to say that every single kid out there can play like Kobe. So, he was a waste of money as far as I can see it for Lakers. They should have kept Caron Butler and brought in a big center like Amere Stoudmire. Unfortunately, everyone else see's what Laker's management don't see. Perhaps they are getting old and lost of touch.
