I used to sleep late and i cant force myself to sleep when i am not tired.
Many people have sleep problems because of things going on in their life... so a friend recently told me to clear your mind and tell yourself that you will think about it tomorrow and you will be able to fall asleep...
...another friend told me that she has a glass of warm milk before she goes to bed and that gave her a good nights rest.
Well,do you have a certain method that you follow?

I have no certain method. My sleep is so broken. Some time ago i tried to practise this cleaning of mind, a way of meditation, some affirmations like:
"My mind is empty...i will sleep well...i care about nothing now...i relax deeper and deeper..."
Now i practic nothing.I sleep when i can and if i can. And i am very sensitive to noise, light and etc. And if there is a noise arround or light- forget about sleeping:(

Well I certainly can't sleep when I'm not tired. I just lay there and think, so in the end I have to get up and do something else until I get tired. As to little tricks to help, I've tried clearing the mind(not that there's much to clear,ha ha), but things keep creeping back in before I get to sleep, and warm milk doesn't work either. Truthfully, I don't really know what works, so I will be eagerly be awaiting answers to your discussion also! Thanks,Augusta. Good one!

I don't have any method as such to make myself fall asleep. Usually i get tired from work & it helps me get sleep very quickly, sometimes it happens that i will be restless in bed & i don't get sleep for 1 or 2 hours & then i don't know when but i do fall asleep then wake up later in the day. But yeah drinking hot milk in the night before going to bed is a sure thing that helps a lot in getting you the sleep.

Yes, its really hard to sleep especially when you are thinking something like you are excited of tomorrows event or something is bothering you and you cant get that off your mind. I also try to clear off what i am thinking and just think to sleep again....At times, its not that effective but i still get to sleep after thinking a lot of things.

I read before naptime. In just a few minutes, I'm already very sleepy. Well, it depends on the material I'm reading. Whenever I really want to sleep well, I would just read the Science book that I teach in school. Very boring! I avoid reading my favorite books (mystery, suspense, adventure) during the weekdays because for sure, I wouldn't be able to fall asleep. Sometimes, I would also watch TV or face the computer in order to fall asleep. Anything that would cause eyestrain will for sure make people feel drowsy. Happy myLotting!

I try to go to bed at the same time every night I used to have trouble going to sleep because there's always something on my mind or I just can't sleep. Now I drink a cup of hot Sleepytime tea before I go to bed it helps me to relax and I try not to get things on my mind alot.

well i dont have a certain method but since i do everything by the clock, i dont have any sleeping problems. but i remember when i was very sick, and then in the recovery period too i couldnt fall asleep easily. i would try and try but sleep wouldnt come. so i used to get up, drink a dose of medicine to make me drowsy. it worked a few times. but oftener i had trouble sleeping.

I went to the doctor recently because I was having problems sleeping. He suggested the following:
1. No tv in the bedroom
2. Room darkening window shades
3. Exercise in the evening to burn excess energy, but be done at least an hour before bedtime
4. No caffeine, or if you must, no caffeine after 4pm
5. If tasks are keeping you awake because you're constantly telling yourself "I have to remember to do that tomorrow", then keep a notebook by your bed and write these thoughts down. That way, you can relax, knowing you won't forget because you have a list.
6. Place lavender scented sachets in your bedroom. Lavender is a relaxing scent and can help you fall asleep.

as I get older, I tend to be insomniac. I sleep between midnight to 2 AM only to wake up at 9 Am and prepare to go to the shop but still feel tired. These days I forced myself to sleep at midnight or at least 11 PM, usually I will play some games online to ease my mind or have a warm bath and drink camomile tea, it works! try it!

Hi Augustta!
I don't have a certain method that I follow, I just go to sleep when I am tired and don't foce it. By the end of the day I am usually wiped anyhow because I am a stay at home mom with an almost 11 month old and she keeps me very busy. Plus the cooking, cleaning, etc on top of it. With having personal problems lately I have been finding it hard to go to sleep though. It seems like as soon as I lay down to go to sleep all of my problems start running through my mind.
