What does your cat do to have your attention?

My cat is very anxious to play every day, but there are some days when I'm really busy so I don't have much time for him . He is so angry:)) he does anything he can to have my attention for example if I use an object he always tries to cover that object with his" beauty " if a read a book he stands over it ...if I'm using the computer and my cat wants to play he just climbs the table and he lays down my keyboard .
It's very funny, I enjoy watching him try to have my attention and sometimes I leave the room after he "attacks" my things and the only thing left to do for him is to meow very loud.
So what does your cat do?
You have another example down here:))

My cat Georgette just comes over and plunks herself down on me. Doesn't matter if I am sitting or laying down she will find a way to sit on me. If I am not standing at home you can find me sitting under a cat. My other cat Siren likes to get my attention by being bad. She likes to scratch at the screens on the window and upend plants. They are so sweet but sometimes...

the cat we used to have would do the same thing. come over and just plop down on the book or keyboard or game you were playing and then stretch as slowly as possible..all the better to view how wonderful and entrancing she was! lol!
if she wanted attention and we were not sitting down somewhere, but doing chores or something..she would run up from behind and "whack" at your feet and ankles a few times then run off waiting for us to chase her!
lol, i miss her.

My cat doesn't need my attention, because it fills her day on her own.
Given the fact that my cat does not live in the house, but outside, it has a lot of room to do what she wants: hunt, sleep, lay in the sun...
When I occasionally stay out for a longer time, she just comes and sits next to me. That's when I give her extra attention.

Usually, my cat will just come over and jump in my lap if he wants attention. If he can't get in my lap, he will streach out a paw and tap my leg or arm (sometimes with just a hint of claw, to make sure I notice!). When he was younger and we were living in a wood floored apartment, he would jump up on the dresser and tap things off it with his paw to wake me in the mornings. I learned pretty quick to not leave breakable things out there, but he usually found some change or somthing to bat at. The funniest thing was that he would do a few "practice" nudges and just push the coin across the dresser top to see if that was enough to wake me; if it wasn't, he sent it to the floor. I'm sure the downstairs neighbors loved that!

unfortunatly my cat is very strange.she only wants to know me when shes hungry.dosent like beeing picked up or even patted.when she was a kitten i found out a boarder we had was getting her stonned .well soon as i found out i put an end to it but it has taken its toll on the cat.but shes still a family member and is given heaps of love even though she rejects it most of the time .i have found over a long period of time she is slowly trusting me so its good im getting through to her

One cat I knew, if staring nose to nose didn't wake me, would knock things off the dresser until I got out of bed and fed her. Otherwise, she would just sit in my lap or by my side.

He did it again!
Today (1 may) in the morning we have been
woken up by the meows of our cat!
He had jumped out of a window not properly
closed and he was some meters down in the
garden of our neighbours! Fortunately he had no problem.
We had to gather him with our "usual"
tecnique: a basket and a rope, he jumped
in the basket and we lifted him up, as nothing had happened.
My wife says that he did it to have
our attentions, since our little child today was with his grandma and the cat felt free to reassert his love for us.

All the cats I've ever had seem to be able to read my mood. If I want to be left alone, they're constantly under my nose. If I'm in the mood to be affectionate, I can't keep them on my lap if I tied them down. Cats are naturally disobedient, which is why I love them.

Yes. If they laid down and did nothing all day, they'd be called dogs. ;)

My bf gave me a little white cat as a birthday present last year. He is only 1 month ,and I have to feed him milk everyday at first. He is very cowardly,if some strangers come to my house, he will be trembled.
Now he is too old to fear me.
When i am busy, I often leave him alone. When I come back, I have to clean the house because he throws small things on the floor. He is no longer my little cat.How do you do when your cat angers you ?Do you beat such naughty cat when you are angry?

Currently, I have two twin male cats. Really pretty, light orange and really fluffy. Originally, they were strays, but you would not have known it from how friendly they are. Even though they are both super affection with anyone at all, one, Raist, is a bit stand-offish with me compared to his brother. But, not Caramon! He'll think nothing of jumping up on my desk or bookcases, getting hair on everything and screaming for my attention. He even shoves my hands with his head, or completely head-butts me! :D

our cat doesn’t demand a lot of attention. but when she wants something she buts her head into my leg then gives the leg a rub. she will do this until I get her food and water dish filled. Then if she want to be petted she will do the rubbing of the legs. One of our previous cats would just sit and stare at you until you could feel her eyes boring through your back. She was a very patient cat. The other one would come up to you and sort of climb up you. His claws would just stick out just enough for you to feel them the first time. If that didn’t get your attention then the claws would come out a little bit more each time until he got your attention. We had to put these two kitties down because of illness. We still miss them . Babs could give you the most indignant stare . For some reason our cat don’t demand a whole lot of attention. They always amuse them selves.

I'm very sorry for your cats , I know how it is to lose a cat :(. I think maybe if cats have another cat around they'll play together and won't need to much of your attention .Of course only some situations because people posted in this topic situations in which they had two cats and both needed attention from their owners.

I have 2 cats and they like to climb all over everything. Sometimes while I am writing a check one of them will try to bite the pen. Sometimes they like to climb on top of our entertainment center so we put a blue blanket up there for them to lay on. They also like to try to catch the cursor on the computer as I move it. That really fascinates them because they can see it but they can not touch it.:)

Hehe my cat does some of the same things as yours. If I am writing or reading, she will lay down on my books or try and bat my pencil away from me. If she doesn't have anything she can block from me or take away, she will meow and meow, keep rubbing against me, or basically make a loud racket and run around the room and she doesn't stop. Of course I have to do something with her or else she'd probably never stop. Hehe ;)
