How do I get my kids to stop all the fighting?!

I know that this is something that happens.. siblings fight..
but my kids REALLY fight bad.. and its a all day every day thing.. they can not stand each other.
They are 8 and 9 years old.. they have a little brother thats just 2 1/2, they treat him better than they treat each other but its still not that great..
the one who mostly starts the fights is my 9 year old..
what do you do when your children fight constantly and you have had all u can take????????????

I have a 13 and 11 yr old that are the same way. Sometimes I make them go to seperate rooms and sometimes I make them sit on the couch holding hands. With my kids it is mostly verbal so with either one of these being done they are not aloud to say anything bad to eachother. I am glad that I am not the only going trough this. good luck.

OMG Jennifer, my kids are the same age!! I have a 2 year old girl, and 5, 8, 9, and 12 year old boys and they all fight constantly! They think everything is a competition and it's driving me crazy too!
Here's what I've started doing...If they fight over a toy, I take it. If they fight over where they are going to sit in the van, I make whoever's fighting get all the way in the back. Etc. It seems to be working a little. Good LUck!
