Is There a Reason For Me To Worry?

I wonder why many of my colleagues are worried about me for the incoming school year. Is there really something to worry about? My boss will be holding an additional postion by june and preparation have already started. Additional job means additional responsibility, I know that. But is it not proper that instead of viewing the hardships of the job it will be better to see the brighter side of it? I am challenged by the new position of my boss since i'll be working hand in hand with her, we will work as a team. For almost three years of my employment under her supervision, not for once have she let me feel that i am incapable of doing anything. She always listens to my suggestions and even asks for one when it's needed. She helped me in so many ways that have allowed me to grow in the company as a person. She taught me a lot, taught me to be brave enough to take challenges in life. So why should i be afraid when i have a very inspiring boss who have bravely accepted the challenge from our company president, would i not be challenged as well? When she's ready, I'll be ready then!

I see no reason for you to worry. YOu have such a positive attitude about this new position that you can only achieve greatness. I have no idea why your colleagues are worried. Are you sure that they aren't jealous of your accomplishments? Stay positive and focused. It will all be great.

thanks sunshine4... its more likely annoying that everytime they come to my office or everytime they ask me about the incoming school year they always make me feel that i need to worry and they are more concern of the work loads/added responsibility...well, for me, the very reason why i work is for me to discover my other capabilities and to keep me going, i need to have some loads of work to do..

I think that these people who work with you have too much time on their hands. You sound like you are up for a challenge and more of a workload. Good luck my friend.

Way to go, breakfast girl. That's the spirit. Never let your boss down by being intimidated by unfounded worries of your colleagues. Are they really worried, or something? I can see that such shift is a major breakthrough in your career as you are tested whether you can make it or not. If your boss can make it, so can you. If she fails, so will you. So, give it your best shot, and you will be surprised that accepting a greater responsibility is more of a blessing in disguise. Grab this opportunity because opportunities come only once.
