you can get laptops that are mostly like desktops now (there's one from dell that is a desktop basically lol). But I understand the whole keyboard thing since it annoys me at times on a laptop.

I prefer laptops for so many reasons. One, the obvious, they are portable. Also I find them more convenient than desktops even just as a computer to use at home. If you have a desktop and for some reason you want to move your computer to a different location in the home, you have to unhook the towers, keyboard and everything first, then move it, then hook it all back up. A laptop is simple, you just move it. I also prefer the touch pad on a laptop to a mouse and mouse pad. Why? ever have that problem using a mouse and mouse pad where you run out of room on the mouse pad before you get the cursor on the part of the screen where you want it and have to pick the mouse up, replace it on the pad and start again? I do and I hate that! lol. I never have that problem using the touch pad on my laptop.

Laptops are expensive because its parts are smaller than desktops and they are easily damage when you use for gaming. Laptops are handy. You can bring them anywhere. But still I go for desktop.

Since portability is not a concern for me, I prefer my desktop. I work from home as a freelance writer/reporter and everything is all in one place that I could ever need. It is normally after 6 pm when I reach my productive point of the day and I am almost always at home during that time. There is no need for me at this time to have a computer ready to travel. :-)
