How many of you take your work home? I not talking about the problems, headaches, etc... I am talking about actual work. I used to spend all my time off working on spreadsheets, moves, etc... I had no time for myself or my family. Finally I said enough is enough. It wasn't appreciated. The more I did the more they wanted me to do. I still work every once in a while at the house but usually I let it go until I get back to work. How about you? Any other work aholics out there?

Unfortunately I am the one here! Ha Ha Ha .... I have no regrets taking work my home, because my work is some thing like that! I am a Stud Vet staying on the farm itself. My job involves breeding of the Horses, treatment, nutrition, surgery etc . In nut shell I am looking after the horses in all possible ways! So I am since staying on the farm and I am suppose to attend the horses any time there is no much difference for me between my work place and home!
I do have a my personal library with more than 100 volumes of books concerning my subject. I have a PC and a laptop. I store data in my laptop and transfer it to my PC and vice versa. I need to do lot of home work as we need to breed horses within a short stipulated time of 4 months,. Tha really requires a lot of planning and careful implimentation!
Mean while we prepare the sale of young ones on the farm itself . For that we do have a different preparatory schedule and programme which is again to be palnned and programmed by me along with my Manager and Director, and then the complete thing has to be inplimented as per the specs. For doing all these things I need to be mentally ready and clear what to do, how to do and when to do!
Thus I am though not present on my work place still I am working even though I am atr home as work and my brain are indeispensible. Thas why my wife often says that mere presence of mine on the farm 9why not then it be at my place) is a big job and lot oftensions! In a way I think she is correct!
Just while answering your discussion I am down loading some pictures pertaining to endoscopy from one of the sites!
I am really not bothered whether I am being paid extra for my home work or given due regards to my work or not! I think then this is an addiction and I think I am a Workaholic! What you say ?
Thanks for starting suchj a nice discussion! All the best!

You really are a workaholic. Make sure to take a little time for yourself. Remember "All work and no play...". Thanks for the response.

It is something I do quite often, usually an hour or two worth of work. I'm on salary so either way I I get paid for it. I am a self confessed work-aholic, I have to keep consistently busy and I'm always doing at least 2 things at once.
I do every now and then say, "enough" and I force myself to not even look, think or talk shop. Eh, everyone needs a break sometimes.
