i am a mother of three kids. the thing that bother us is about our second child. at age 3, he still cannot speak well. he talks but only a few phrases, and most of it are in english language and not our own. at his age, he will be entering preschool, but we are wondering how he can cope with the school activities. he is totally different from his elder sister who was able to talk fluently at age 1. is it just right us to send him to school? we were thinking that probably enrolling him to preschool will be of great help.

Pre school can be a big help for a child that doesn't talk that much. My nephew was barely able to talk at the start of the school year. He now speaks a whole lot better. The teachers are there to help the child along the way.

Oh Honey! No need to worry. I have a five year old that still sounds like a baby. I have a two year old that never shuts up, lol. All kids are different. He probably just don't talk a lot because big sis does it for him! I wouldn't worry about it too much...he'll get it!

oh my dear, please dont worry, the very fact he has spoken a few words suggests that he has the facility to do it so he will manage it in his own time blessed be

sometimes not all kids that are in a home with more than one language talk later tan other we have a 2 year old and he does'nt talk much and he says some stuff in english and some in spanish.I think school will do him good just being with other kids will likely make him want to talk.

I have a 7yr old that has PDD which is persuasive developmental disorder. The symptoms are like your sons. You will have to take your son to an early intervention program to get evaluated, they will get him speech therapy, and any other services he needs.good luck
