If you were on a battlefield... Who would you want watching your back?

Now this is an interesting question. If you choose someone from too far back in the past they might not be able to handle the weapons of today in order to protect your back. So that kind of takes out people Ulysses Grant or Wyatt Earp for example. Teddy Roosevelt might not be a bad choice or even Patton. Someone like Steven Segal or Chuck Norris come to mind. They have a lot of abilities and could watch your back but there is no person al connection. They won't really care if I'm killed or not.
I think though after some real thought I know who I'd want at my back. Rin Tin Tin or Lassie would be great. They would want to protect me. They would let me know if someone came up behind me, they could attack someone, and I think they would care if I was hurt.

Thanks :) The dogs are one most don't think about but they have done a lot both in war time and peace to help man. I've always had dogs in my life so I know how loyal and protective they can be. Perhaps that is why they came to mind.

I wish I would have thought of the dogs! There was never any stopping Lassie!

If I am in a battlefield, I would want to win the battle. Preferably, my guardian angel should be watching my back. However, I would want the enemy to be watching my back. This means I have conquered the battle and there is nothing he can do but send me off in trumph :P

It wouldn't be Brutus and it wouldn't be Lancelot. You can't trust either of those guys. You can keep Lot and Herod, too. I would choose my sister for back watching, but she has a bum knee. All the famous generals were all a little too crazy for my liking. If my dog had a thumb I would choose him hands down, but he doesn't so I guess I would have to go with my dad. He is an excellent shot.

Depends on if they were going to actually watch out for the enemy or not so I think that I would have to say if I was to have someone watch my back it would be my mom because I know that she wouldn't let anyone hurt me at least not on purpose.
