What would you do if you were an eye-witness to a crime?

It's election season here in my country and I could tell you that we are having a blood bath here. Politicians killing another politician just to get that seat in the office.
As I was watching the news this evening, I was shock to see a close friend of mine, though I only saw his eyes, part of his body and hear his voice on cam, I knew it was him. Apparently he saw a son of an important person here being abducted on the restaurant he was in. The son of that important person was just eating inside the restaurant, then four guys came inside and force him to go outside. He was yelling for help from the people inside the restaurant but nobody helped him. Now he is gone missing. I haven't called my friend to ask what the situation was. But I was really proud of him for telling what he saw. And not be scared.
Could you, being in his shoes, tell the authorities of a crime you actually saw? Won't you get scared of the possibilities that the bad guys might come after you for spilling the beans?

Well i am one of those who will always help someone that is in trouble, even if i see a crime commited i would go and help. Somtimes it is not really a smart move, because this kind of behaviour can put you in a dangerous position, but i still act this way. I can say that there were situations that this type of acting put me on the line, and i lost important things. But this is the way i am. Alote of people think that it is stupid to risk yourself, i do agree with them that at certain situations it is stupid. But again this is who i am.
