whatever comes to mind. I just hold a pencil and a sketchpad and doodle and sometimes i'll see my daughter and I'll draw her or someone on TV. sometimes i draw flowers and trees. Whatever my fingers decide to draw. I don't really think about it coz if I do, then I am not able to do it so I just let my fingers do the drawing

One thing that inspires me is using art websites like Wetcanvas. There are so many fabulous artists there that also encourage you and give you ideas. Another thing that motivates me is sales and positive comments.
But, for ideas, I would have to say that I look through all the photos I take for ideas. You can also get ideas for projects on Wetcanvas as well as criticism of your work. It's amazing how many projects they have.

I haven't drawn or painted in ages and ages. When I was in school, our Art teacher had us turn in two sketches per week. We were to go out with sketchbook in hand and sketch whatever moved us. I think that's still a good rule of thumb. I write poetry...sometimes I've gotten up out of bed in the middle of the night to write-other times I've had to venture out or think about something-ordinary or every day, common-and then write about it.

I light to lay out all the things I am going to use on a table. Then I just start and let the art tell me what should be done. I also surf the web for ideas and think of projects, I buy the supplies and then they sit for awhile until I am feeling inspired then I just let my hands do the work. I try and not over think.

Drawing or painting is something which comes from your inner emotions and feelings.Art itself is the outcome of your innerself.A great artist always takes ideas from around him/her,from his/her life/surroundings etc. because creation of a new art is the mirror image of the society you are living in.I also make pencil sketches, drawings etc.
I take inspirations from my neighbourhood housings, vehicles on the road and all sorts of happenings on earth around me.Yesterday I went to a park and found a girl of age abt. 6 plucking up a flower from a small bush, I don't know the name of the flower. But I found that very artistic and made a sketch of that, of course with 90% imaginations in it.So you don't have to decide...whenever you see something catchy....make that scene permanent through your imaginations and skill of art.

Pain... suffering... sad to say... but I can't write or great anything unless I'm sad or angry.

I think the first inspiration of any artist is nature: mountains, sea, the sun, the trees, the vegetation, life, annimals, simple things as the design of a snow drop, or complicated things as the conformation of a star constellation.... Then comes human being, and things get further and more complicated: you can then be inspired by feelings (love, hate...) social means (politics, sexuality...) imaginations (dreams, surreal things...) I think more or less that's enough, since each of this concepts can grow as far as you want.

I visit the websites and blogs of many artists to get some inspiration. Here are a few I love:
http://www.somevenus.com
http://www.patriciaandrews.com
http://www.moderngypsy.com
http://www.sabrinawardharrison.com
http://www.planetsark.com
I also have several art books I venture through when I need a creative spark:
Make Your Creative Dreams Real, by SARK
Alphabetica, by Lynne Perrella
The Creative Licence, by Danny Gregory
The Artist's Way, by Julia Cameron
Any book by M.C. Escher
I've also got a TON of artists listed as "friends" over on myspace that continuously keep me inspired with what they have posted in their profiles and blogs. Not to mention the many artists I have as "friends" and the communities I belong to on livejournal.com.
Keeping an art journal has helped me sift through ideas, as well, and force me to focus on how the project will come to fruitition. I have several projects going on right now that had to be worked out in writing in my paper journal or in experiments in my art journal. This, of course, spurred inspriation for other projects.
